There is no other way about it, he's being prepared to face fire with fire. He tried to box and move in their last fight and he just got steam rolled. Here he is being prepared to take punishment and to have an answer when Margo goes ape **** on him. Those spinning around drills knock out your equilibrium so he's being conditioned for situations like that which may arise. In other words, he's being prepared for the fight of his life and no one in the camp is under any illusions as to what Margo will bring to the fight.

I think Cotto will box and brawl with Margo. Reason being he can't try to box all 12 rounds, as eventually Margo will catch up to him, and all the movement will take it out of Cotto, Margo can come on and is dangerous the entire fight and will keep throwing. So I think Cotto will box first half of the fight, but then start putting more in to his punches with his timing and speed. He will have to stay in the pocket a bit and try to out work Margo (easier said than done) but he will have to be smart and he will have to be brave.

One thing I really don't want to see is Cotto take another beating. He's a real gentleman and another beat down would surely be the end. Either way, it's gonna be one hell of a fight, and I hope Miguel comes through victorious.

Technical/strategic enhancement, and superb conditioning are two things Cotto will need for this fight. It looks like he's getting them. I look forward to being there.

Also, it's worth noting that he's preparing to get the better of it on the inside. As I and a few others have said, he can't just box or just fight but mix them both up. He's going to keep turning Margarito and slip shots in close in order to get the better, shorter ones off both upstairs and downstairs before circling out. The move on the mitts suggests he'll be prepared for the hard and nuanced work of trench warfare.

cotto's camp is working hard on his conditioning, technically is not much for cotto to learn,he knows the fundamentals pretty well, its the tactical part that needs to be worked out.Improving his stamina against a very durable fighter as margarito is key to victory.Coto is way better boxer than margo, but the cheater is bigger, stronger with a better chin and durability in the ring.I still believe that mosley was "high" when he disposed of margo.Pac hit him with everything and coudnt bring him down.
anyways...cotto is having a great camp and im confident he will win this fight

mosley had the advantage that margo had just gotten caught cheating and his mind was nowhere near that arena... if cotto would have fought the margo that stepped in that day margo would have retired that day.... instead cotto fought a VERY WELL trained margo that knew had an advantage because of the bricks and was determined. ALSO his corner did an amazing job motivating him and telling him what he needed to do against cotto

cottos left hand, wont be enough, i think, to deter margarito. remember, the fight is at 153, he would prolly be fighting a better version of margarito than pac did.

but again, marq left eye, would prolly play a role in this fight.

i hope cotto trained his right really well, quick hard right to marg's left eye, might deter marg from coming.

I have always believed that if and when "The Rematch" ever happened between Marg / Cotto...if Cooto wins and especially if he wins DECISIVELY, Then he would probably retire. titles at 140lbs, 147lbs and 154lbs and revenging a beat down in a Mexico vs Puerto Rico Rivalry. Perfect way to end his career. Nothing to prove at 154lbs and beyond...Pointless.
