    I'd recommend Reyes.

About half the price of Grant with the same (or very near) quality.

Ahh..I would of said you must be crazy last year, but their present line of equipment has dropped in quality. I would rather pay the extra few bucks and get winning now if I am going to spend that much. Cleto is not better than Grant though. The hand compartment is not really a universal fit for everyone like Grant is. Plus Grant has better padding.

    screw that.

my boxing skills does not warrant using $200 bag gloves. it would be like a hearing-impaired person using a similarly priced set of headphones.

What company do you mean by "their" Cleto or Grant?

Winning does not make 'hook and loop'.

I never said Cleto was better than Grant.

You should: Learn to read correctly, learn to write correctly and then get your facts straight.

I stand corrected on the Winning 'hook and loop' AKA "Winning Velcro" ($265.00 14oz.).

I'd recommend Reyes for about half the price.

    Harsh?

It was his first post FFS.

Yea I don't really get into all that.....anyway I tried cleto lace and I never could get used to the way they feel on my hands. As far as hitting, the kind of hurt my hands so I kind of stay away. I have a lot of grant pro fight gloves, but the last pair that I bought felt different from the other pairs. I really want to try winning Lace gloves but not big on paying that much for them.

You're right (and so was the newbie) about the hand compartments on the Reyes. But, after a time they 'break in' good, feel snug (maybe too snug) and usually last.

Winning are the best but they were expensive --even 30 years ago-- and the current Yen-to-Dollar exchange rate hasn't helped.

I didn't know about the Grant quality issue except for their 'Campion' (sp?) line. We bought several pairs for our gym but they didn't last.

I actually prefer Rival for bag gloves, their unique diagonal wrist enclosure is the best I've used IMO.

Not making any comment on the padding because I suspect it is amazing... Anyone feel that the Winning covering deteriorates quickly? I have seen two guys' go from beautiful to crap quickly while my leather old faithfuls keep riding strong.

Rival makes amazing quality gloves. A little light on padding, but high quality. The only issue is the colors. Man they are horrible. Orange? Yuck.

To the original thread... Maybe this is a sea-change in China/Global Labor, but a lot of glove prices have gone insane lately.
