I don`t give a **** how much fighters make but those numbers are ****in disgraceful, its what is ruining the sport... at 1st they never got paid enough, now they get paid far too much.
What's "too much" though? I mean, the guys signing their checks are getting how much more? If you are proven to generate so much, you get paid so much by the people investing in your ability to bring in the dough for them. Pac and Marquez have hit a level in their profession where it's not really a gamble. They know they're worth these paychecks.
Pac's getting a fair percentage of the revenue that's he's going to generate. The issue with boxing is that they can only effectively promote two fighters (at least here in the States) as household names.
Absolutely spot on. I cant stand all that crap about athletes pay, they get paid based on what they generate or what they could potentially generate. Its business like any other and only fair. Would you rather the fighter who is getting punched in the head make only a minute percentage of what is being generated and for the suits to get even more than they already do?
Smh. Boxing isn't about Boxing. It is this type of paydays that prove it. FMJ would be long retired. Fighters are spoiled as hell nowadays.

Every time a professional boxer laces up gloves and enters that ring their life is in danger....How much is that worth????????...... :deal This is combat sport kiddies, not Tennis or Golf, at the end of the day, the injuries that can be sustained are life changing.....its not like getting "Tennis Elbow." They deserve that and more, considering how much punishment that have taken through out their whole careers to get where they are at. The payday is not merely for the one fight, it is the result of a career life of hard work that has culminated into the name's they have become in the sport.
PAC is guaranteed $8 million. Marquez $5 million. Fixed it. You have to incorporate how much Manny is getting screwed and how much hell give away to his 100 man entourage.
So who would you have the money go to? Boxing is the only sport where I never believe that the athlete can make too much, they take brutal beatings for our entertainment and dedicate their lives to it. Would you rather some bald-headed, moronic, super-douche take all the money like in the UFC?
