    Joe could cut off the ring like no one else - a skill the current P4P champ should learn from - he was relentless!

    TRUE WARRIOR:

    Didn't want to be seen as "ducking or shirking anyone";

    Not embarrassed at losing - "I've been whooped plenty of times";

    A lot of great Frazier moments have already been mentioned, so I'll post a recent feature done on Smokin' Joe:

    The genuinely warm greeting he gave the man that brutally stopped his son in the ring (Holmes) prior to the Holmes/Mercer bout. Oh, and putting Ali on the canvas.

    This would be mine too.

    I also like it when he said: "I got two hands just like him."

    Funny how this thread has a lot less poster than the one with floyd in it. Just goes to show how much hate esb has for one man.

    I remember Joe eating shots from Ali in their third fight, then nodding his head before unleashing blistering hooks to Ali's body. It was everything that machismo and bushido embodied rolled into one Smokin Joe Frazier.

    I remember vividly sitting with my dad listening to the first Frazier/Ali encounter on radio. My dad was a massive Frazier fan and he jumped around the room with me like crazy when Ali went down near the end. The win was decisive and I was Joe`s newest Fan (along with, I`m sure, millions of other kids). At 205 pounds and standing at 5ft 11in. Frazier was shortish for a Heavyweight, but with his vicious Left and amazing Inside Work he was breathtaking to watch and very, very effective. While his Family mourn his death, Boxing Fans from around the world should unite and thank God that we were around to witness this Boxing Great in action!!

    I had my Olympic gold medal cut up into eleven pieces. Gave all eleven of my kids a piece. It'll come together again when they put me down.

    My memories of Joe Frazier always include the Quarry fight: 1969 Fight of the Year. I already posted part one on another thread, but what the hell, I'll post it here too.
