I agree with you Orisha, Tito's comments after the bout made me upset a little. He should have no excuses because this was a fight that he was never gonna win outside of a KO/TKO. He even implied that he was upset because the puertorican judge didn't do a good job (on the endi.com interview). All and all it was a great fight for Tito, but RJJ will always be out of his league.

Both Jones and Trinidad arent even close to what they were years ago, but Jones did beat a natural 147,154 pounder. So he shouldnt even think he can beat calzaghe or hopkins or any other top light heavyweight right now

Jones CAN beat Tarver and Johnson today if motivated as he was against Tito. And Yes, i think he can take JC as well

Oh God, what Tarver and Johnson would do to Jones at this point!
Jones was knocked stiff, both times, and it was 5 years ago!
Roy has only gotten worse. The only thing he's done better since then is pick his opponents more carefully.
Sorry to say, Roy is no longer a major player, just a standout on the oldies circut.

You mean the Tarver that got whooped by BHOP? Please!!

  10. Roy-Tito wasn't a very good fight:-( Jones should have fought harder and not F@cked around so much, by hot dogging it:huh Roy's a decade past his prime at almost 40, still has something left in the tank, he should fight Chad Dawson, or the winner of Pavlik-Taylor, while he has the momentum, i just hope he dosen't sit on his ass and take a long 6 month layoff..

Sure the fight was not SRL v Duran I, nor Bowe v. Holy, but it had its moments, I was satisfied on both performances, they out performed my expections, specially RJJ..but to be able to extrapolate success for either at this weight class is ridiculous and ludicrous, Tito might be able to look fiiter at 160lbs, and potentially give some trouble to some of the current 160 lbs……for RJJ, any dreams of Calzaghe is out of the questions, and he is a weight class that is IMO is no mans land….Tito options, are probably more appealing since RJJ has to go up to 175, and the current talent might be to big for RJJ at this point…

    Good post Orisha.

Tito was far more effective than I anticipated him being, and did some EXCELLENT body work.. some really hard shots.

Roy was enough of Roy to win a fight he should have won, and I was happy for him.

I actualy think that Roy should go out on this note. Tito should fight and win one more fight and then off to the sunset in Cupey Alto.

Tito should fight Quartey at 160...That would be a HELL of a fight at this point in their careers. And then retire.

Tito did well but then the rust came through and the weight and he just couldn't throw combos without getting tired...

RJJ did okay but he was still gun-shy he should retire only option for him is to fight hopkins anyone else will whoop him he's not active enough and the only fighter who he can get away with that with is bhop because he's just as inactive as roy is

Steward summed it up around the 8th round, I think:

"All Roy has to do is throw the punches..."
