floyd low output will give PAcquiao confidence to come forward tho. Watch the cotto fight , Cotto was countering pacquiao throughout the fight, but with single shots (like Floyd) which pac walks right thru and keeps pressing forward. You have to throw combinations to get pac's respect (aka marquez). And lets be real, Floyd isnt the toughest boxer out there. He's gonna get hit and put in sticky situations and pac is a really good finisher. There's a reason mexican fighters gave Pacquiao his toughest fights.

 

Mayweather's out put depends on who ever he's fighting. Mayweather will set traps for Pac all day.

 

Just because you know how to beat someone doesn't translate into having the ability to do it. That's why the best trainers are usually the ones that weren't too good as boxer's. They had the no how but not the ability.

 

Can't wait to see Bradley fight this weekend, but I got a feeling the fight's gonna suck

 

Bradley will fight Pacquiao next hence he's already in Top Rank but I pray that him and Pacquiao do not get involved in one or more headbutts. I fear that way more than I fear the world ending.

I don't necessarily agree with his breakdown of pac's feints. I think fighters start covering up because they don't want to get hit anymore. But obviously, any time any fighters feints, it's to create an opening.

I usually dont comment but i had to say something about this. I believe you have it backwards and that why i think manny loses.

-Floyd has the height and reach advantage

-He is as fast or faster than manny

-He defense is probably the best in boxing (his defense is alot more that just a shoulder roll)

-You say his offense against southpaws is repetitive but honestly what punch does manny get hit with the most. The straight right hand. And thats from slow handed guys

-Floyd is also physically stronger

The only chance i think manny would have is to somehow knock floyd out with 1 punch in the early rounds and hope he stays down. But the percentage chance on that happening is very slim? Why? Cause manny hasnt knocked out anyone at 147 with one punch. He is an accumalation puncher. But who has honestly been able to hit floyd with more that 1 punch at a time. No one i can think of, but a guy who is as limited technically as manny is going to be the first to do it? I guess anything is possible but the safe money is honestly on floyd. If that fight gets signed tomorrow the betting fav would be floyd and that is for a reason.

imo manny comes in with too many disadvantages to win. Its floyds combo of size and skill that i think manny just wouldnt get past. take away 1 and i would see it differently. People dont realize that you are asking a guy who doesnt have the best boxing brain to solve a rubiks cube. Goog luck

Manny will miss...and miss a whole lot. Floyd's jab will be effective, as will his lead right.

How would Manny deal with Floyd's own movement? Or getting countered when he throws and misses, and steps off balance?

Just throwing punches at all times is not going to get the job done with Floyd.

 

First off, I do agree that Floyd holds a lot of physciall and technical advantages. But what I am looking at are the intangible and style advantages that will trouble Floyd. From a purely technical standpoint, Oscar and Marquez are technically superior to Castillo, yet Castillo gave Floyd his hardest fight IMO.

If physcial and technical advantages were all it took:

Jones wouldn't have beaten Hopkins and Toney while all were in their primes becasue both had technically superior fundamentals and Hopkins was taller with a better reach.

Calazghe wouldn't have beaten Hopkins. (Which I think is what the Pac Floyd fight will look like.)

5'11 Frazier wouldn't have had a chance against 6'3 Ali and most agree Ali was superior technically.


Leonard shouldn't have loss to Duran the first time around being better technically and with his physical advantages.

Marciano would've lost most of his fights and never should've retired undefeated.


And the biggest intagible is that we know how Pacquiao reacts to adversity and know for sure he will fight until the end if he's going to lose. We don't know how Floyd would react and based on his adversity in Castillo 1, it won't be a good thing if the judges aren't on his side. :good

 

Cotto does not fight as well while moving. He gave Pac a target until he got on his bike, in the later rounds. Assuming Floyd still has his legs, he could stick and move on Pac, en route to a comfotable decision. Manny does not cut off the ring. If you listen to Freddie Roach, he's most concerned about Floyd's ability to box and MOVE.

putting strategy on how to beat pac is pretty easy as his flaws are there to be seen. but the execution part is the one that is very hard to do.
