Was there ever a serious attempt to match Pacquiao with Raheem?

NO. They wanted nothing to do with that style back then.

I think he lost to freitas shortly after pac vs morales 2 so theyd ecided to go for the more lucrative rubbermatch after beating Larios in Manilla first.

What would be the incentive? Raheem never came to fight and was a spoiler AT BEST. They knew at least Morales would come to fight. Raheem won on rounds against Morales but somehow still managed to look cowardly even completely destroying his opponent. Crazy.

Raheem is a low reward prospect: not going to be a good fight, might look bad chasing him around, might not catch him to knock him out. One loss and he wasn't marketable anymore, no one saw him on the top stage again. Losses don't hurt Morales marketability, he still goes in there to fight with his heart.

 

He wasn't in Pac's division, lost a few months after Morales-Pacquiao II, and did nothing significant ever again. Amazing how overrated this guy has become by haters trying to detract from Pac's success.

Raheem will go down in the history books as a one hit wonder along with the likes of Vince Phillips, Buster Douglas, Leon Spinks, only much further down the scale as they actually beat guys in there own division for their fluke wins, where as he faced an unmotivated, unfocused, bloated Morales who was looking ahead to a big money Pac rematch.

 

No. Raheem is dead boring to watch, never was a draw, and was a bad style matchup. As far as I remember, Raheem never really pushed for the fight either.

 

When pac was at 130 pounds, he wouldnt fight raheem and guzman cause both are slick fighters. Pac would only fight fighters that werent at their best and is just a brawler.

 

if there was ever a fight i wished happened it would have been Soto at 130 when he crushed Bobby and the fight was made on boxrec, at 130 at that stage of their careers that would have been a war

or i wish he fought bigger names at 135

like Casa or Juan Diaz or JMM in the rubber match there or maybe even Campbell

 

Raheem would have lost a boring decision to Pac or been KOed depending on if he wanted to engage

That would have been like fire vs ice. Pacquiao would have melted him down.
