my trainer says to extend my arm when i punch so i can get more reach. but that's hyperextending and whenever i do extend it all the way i dont feel any power. my former trainer said when you throw a punch throw it halfway but also move foward. so whos correct and what should i do? Also when i throw punches to the head i have a farther reach but when i go for body shots my punches are too short
Is the training section that hard to find? Small tip : It's in yellow letters towards the top right of the page.
It depends on what you are trying to do. In fighting, you obviously have to cut your punches short. Fight long range, you full extend your arm. You step in to put your body weight behind your shots. All kinds of scenerio. You have to factor in form too. A lot of the time you can't punch with full power with correct form bc it focus on defense as you attack. You have to feel out the situation.
dont come here looking for boxing tips, people here dont know **** about boxing. (neither does your trainer)
why be such a d*** when hes probably just starting out and asking for advice..oh sorry i forgot everyones born a tekkers king.
If you stretch out your arms with every punch, you should only do it from your shoulder not from your elbow cause you will injure it. Here`s a good tutorial: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VH0rO2RFBPw[/ame]
When people ask for any kind of advice here like 80% + of the replies are from people being unhelpful assholes. Are you guys aware of this, not sure why its like that.
