We can do a million polls asking this question here and it'll be Marquez every time. Manny knew he lost, Roach knew it. Oscar had Marquez, Khan had Marquez, Judah, Mayweather.. These are people who actually know what they're talking about. Only diehard Pacquiao fans would disagree.
Marquez didn't show his age, and performed almost perfectly. People were expecting him to be slow and faded, a shell of his former self. When he was constantly changing styles, mixing it up, and countering as brilliantly as any JMM fans has ever seen him do, the hope was he'd get a gift decision. When he didn't, everyone said it was a robbery.......but you can't win 5 rounds, and expect a win. Had he won one of the last 3, he'd have gotten a draw on most cards.
Who really won on paper & forever will be Pacquiao. Who should have won: JMM Manny didn't even raise his hands after the fight instead he crouched in his corner & prayed to Arum. (His body language/Roach's between rounds told the story of how Team Pac felt)
The absolute best you can give Manny is the draw. I see no argument whatsoever for a Pacquiao victory here. Having said that it was closer then some are making out (shutout type victorys)
