I've re-watched the fight to score it. And from re-watching it it is a close fight. However, what I'll say is that the rounds Marquez wins he seems to do more clearly. Here's my round by round scoring... I'd like to see others.

    *RD1 - 10-10
    RD2 - 10-9 Marquez
    RD3 - 10-9 Marquez
    *RD4 - 10-9 Marquez
    RD5 - 10-9 Marquez
    *RD6 - 10-9 Pac
    *RD7 - 10-9 Marquez
    *RD8 - 10-9 Pac
    RD9 - 10-9 Marquez
    RD10 - 10-9 Pac
    RD11 - 10-9 Pac
    *RD12 - 10-9 Pac

    6-5-1 Marquez.

Now, I think Marquez won his rounds more cleanly but there are a lot of close swing rounds. I think Round 1 could be scored for Pac, which would make it a 6-6 fight. Now, because Marquez won his rounds more cleanly, I'm having trouble seeing anyway Pac won this fight. 116-112 is an atrocious scorecard. I scored the swing rounds in the middle of the fight 2-2. I believe Marquez edged those rounds, with Pac it seems he just edges the rounds he wins. I noticed in this fight Pac seemed to resort to more pitty pat quick scoring type of shots that would seem to do well in amateur boxing, but Marquez more consistently landed the cleaner, more effective shots. I just wished Marquez finished stronger... the reason Pac had the success he did in the last 2 rounds is because he was desperate. Him being desperate made him just a little bit more unpredictable. The 12th round could still be scored for Marquez, although I think Pac clearly edged the 10th and 11th rounds.

How did you score this fight on a round by round basis?

Ah, this is ESB after all. It's more about gossip and sensationalism rather than substance that attracts poster. Thought a scoring thread would garner some response, but I guess style still triumphs substance.

    1 Pac
    2 Marquez
    3 Marquez
    4 Marquez
    5 Marquez
    6 Pac
    7 Even
    8 Marquez
    9 Pac
    10 Pac
    11 Marquez
    12 Marquez

    7-4-1 (116-113) Marquez

I've only watched it once and might have some of the rounds mixed up there but that was my score and I think they were the way I scored the rounds. A few could have gone either way as you say.

Yeah it was closer then I originally thought after watching it a second time. People are just caught up in the hype , and just like the other two fights they overrate what the underdog did and ignore everything else that happened.

okay I just rewatched the fight

no way emmanuel won anymore than 4 rounds

    this how I had it

    R1 J
    R2 J
    R3 J
    R4 J
    R5 J
R6 J, could have gone either way
    R7 J
    R8 J
R9 m, could have gone either way
    R10 J
    R11 m
    R12 m

Juan's trainer didn't do him any favors by telling him he was winning. Juan clearly laid off in the 11th and 12th, especially 12th, and gave emmanuel those rounds.

    117-111 for Juan

    Juan SCHOOLED him!

No, I do think that it was a robbery in the sense that the judges had to be paid off for Pac to win. A benefit of the doubt is a draw. A Pac win is some dreadful incompetence, or crooked judges.

Marquez worked the body, and landed fairly cleanly.

My card was the same as Lederman's. Ended with 116-112 Pacquiao. I was NOT affected by HBO commentary. I always have my score made up as soon as the bell rings to end the round; I was legit surprised that Lederman and I had cards that matched up perfectly.

It's ridiculous to think either fighter won by a landslide. I saw two swing rounds that I just barely gave to Pacquiao, and one swing round I barely gave to Marquez, and I'm willing to accept any score between 116-112 Pacquiao and 113-115 Marquez. To say that either fighter CLEARLY won is missing the fact that it was ridiculously close.

I think people were clearly influenced by Primetime if you scored RD9 to Pac but not RD 8. Fair score either way.

Bad scoring my dude. 116-112 is quite a stretch. 115-113 Marquez? The fought easily could have been scored 8-4 to Marquez. Let's see a round by round scoring, nobody is interested in having to hear about a final score without the round by round scoring.
