How would the Marquez of last night do against Mayweather of 2 years ago?

Obviously this version of JMM would still get schooled by Floyd because styles make fights.

JMMs style is all wrong for Floyds.

 

Floyd would have to show him a more respect

Maybe he doesn't go down. Maybe he is able make Floyd feel his power, but maybe he is even a little easier for Floyd to hit.

Maybe wins 2 or 3 rounds. Maybe more like the Mosley fight rather than merely toying around.

 

As a welter and fighting in his late 30's, Mayweather had and has all the physical advantages that Pacquiao did not have vs Marquez.
Last nights version of Marquez does'nt do much different than 2 years ago.

I think both at 130 lbs, each at the same age, and Marquez has a realistic chance against Mayweather, though I would still make Mayweather the favorite.

 

Floyd still wins but JMM would definitely do a lot better. I'd watch a rematch between the two.

 

JMM fares better, probably doesn't get knocked down, but still gets horribly outmatched.

Yup, if for a miracle it was Floyd who initiate the action against a brilliant counter puncher like JMM, JMM would have more success. But if JMM would still be the one who initiate the action, things could still be the same. JMM is at home more counter punching.

You would think in their fight that the bigger Floyd should be the one pressing the attack against the smaller JMM, but he did not.

 

mayweather at 130 was even more of a beast than he is now, he would stop marquez at 130
