No, he's doing what he's suppose to do and that's dominate a division. He even fights the way you're suppose to, boxer-type with a high ring iq. Say what you want about his approach but it's damn well effective and if it's been working for 6 years then keep it. I admit I like Wlad but you can't take away the fact he's dominating though he can't help that he's in a weak era. Wlad PFP #1
No, up there though. He fights everyone he can unlike other names many people like to put on the list. PFP lists should have names that take on everyone they can and dominate which Wlad does. It shouldn't be for fighters who are there just because they're "big names". Whoever isn't doing **** needs to be dropped and repalced by the hungry fighters that are also talented and take challenges.
Just Wlad out of the picture?? WHat about Vitali do you think any of the guys you mentioned could beat Vitali?? NO WAY
I am a huge Wlad fan. And I completely agree with this. When his style was exiting he was always on HBO and people were always for him. Then he had these defeats that he shouldn't have and changed his style. So his fights can be quite boring at times. What I dont understand though is why cant he just blow his opponents away even with his modern style? He can easily do it without being too dumb as in Purrity or Brewster 1 fights. He did it with Brock, Austin, Byrd. Why has he stopped? Its not like his opponents got better. Other than Ibragimov and Haye his opponents are very similar in skill. If only he decided to be more agressive people would be jumping on his bandwagon like crazy. He has the skill, power, IQ, and heart to do it. The only problem is his chin, which I personally dont believe to be as bad as people make it out to be.
In a few years time people will be begging Wlad to come out of retirement and clean the division from the flood of paper champs and bum beltholders. The great is seen from the distance and Wlad will be appreciated A LOT more than he is now. Mark my words, he will be called the last true champ not too far in the future...
Naw, it wasn't the Klit sisters that ruined the division. It was the US government and them Republicans.
no, blame no one for him never fighting a heavyweight of note who wasn't past their prime, plain trash or fighting out of their weight class. he's not a great fighter. he's been knocked out by bums and he's never beaten anyone who was great themselves at the time of their fight. and don't even say chris byrd because that's honestly too sorry of an opponent, and not to mention only one opponent, to qualify wladimir for any top ten list.
p4p lists should be for fighters who fight and beat opponents who are the best and most skilled, challenging fighters around
No he didnt.. He has done what he had to do. It is actually a very good story, he hit the bottom and climbed his way back to the top, that takes some serious heart, i dont care about what haters say. I also think that the depth of the HW division is severely underrated.
You are still hung up on this ****? Again I ask? Do you remember when top 10 Mercer LOST to 36 year old so in your words "old" journeyman Jesse Ferguson. Using that criteria, do you consider the early 90s worse than current division? :think I expect you to completely dodge the questoin yet again, because your criteria is biased and fails to hold up to any sort of reasonable logic.
yeah he is the king of boringness!!!! had he not fought, peter wouldve fought solis, haye maybe povetkin or vitaly.
