I like Paul Williams, but...............

Paul Williams hasn't been thrown in our faces as "the most feared man in boxing", which was an absolute joke regarding Margarito.

 

Plus, it wasn't really that close.

paul williams is over rated. put him in da ring wit cotto and let cotto punish him. he is a freak of nature tho. but i dun think he has a chance with cotto and a rematch wit margo he'd lose i think this time around

 

I've drank the kool-aid on Paul Williams. I think he is a stud. He is the Juan Diaz of the welterweight division. I do think he will be avoided. I can't see high profile big moneymaking guys like Cotto and Mayweather voluntarily fighting him. He doesn't bring enough in terms of $ to the table to get a fight with them. His best hope in the short term is Kermit Cintron.

I think much like Margarito, that, Paul Williams holding the WBO belt is going to the worst thing for him. Williams would be better off getting himself ranked in a mandatory position to force Cotto and Mayweather to fight him if they want to keep their belt. But, as it is now with him holding the WBO, he won't be ranked by anyone else.

 

also, williams has so much more potential he can fulfill. margorito-vile is as good as he's gonna get.

Not sure why people keep insisting and insisting that a second fight would be different or that Cotto would destroy Williams. Williams clearly won the Margarito fight, and Cotto just squeaked by an aging Mosley (most people think it was a draw). Add to that around a 6" height advantage for Williams, and Cotto is going to have a very long night.

 

I'm getting kinda tired of this whole under- or overrated BS. The guy's fought just 1 world class opponent. He hasn't been around long enough to be forming SOOOOOOOOOOO many opnions about him, but people like to jump to conclusions. All he has right now is potential. Nobody knows yet how good he actually is.

I would love to see a rematch between Margarito and Williams. The first fight was very close, if Williams did not win the 12th round, the fight would have been ruled a draw. I believe Margarito has learned that he needs to start faster, and he will win the rematch, if one were to ever happen.
