Just saw Marquez employing his footwork on Pac :)

Don't know if this was intentional or just coincidence but it was very effective. You have to give Marquez credit for that. Amazing work, totally pins Pac making him unable to exit immediately. I don't know. If this is a common occurrence on southpaw vs orthodox, and one can make it happen without even trying, then I guess one would have better changes of making it happen if one tries.

He did seem to stop this habit after he was told he was winning. It's like he was coasting from the 9th round.

Out of the 12 incidents I saw though, the 1st that happened on the 12th round I think was unintentional.

Anyway, Marquez totally exposed Pac's weakness. This seems like one of the elements of why his counterpunching on Pac is so effective.

No we know the root of Manny's leg cramps. Turns out he's not pregnant after all.

Unless Marquez has supernatural peripheral vision, he's never looking down during the fight to even plan such an accurate maneuver as he steps.

Someone should go and pick other Marquez fights with a southpaw to see if the same things happen. Here, we see him doing it 12 times, at least with the limited camera angles available. It could be a coincidence or it could just be a habit. That's why I think we ought to have someone dissect other Marquez fights.

In this recent Pac fight however, he seems to take really long steps towards Pac's right foot and opening up his foot in such a way that when it lands, it will be on top of Pac's foot if both align at the same spot.

All 12 instances could just be pure coincidence. I do see a lot of other "attempts" (assuming of course it's intentional, which maybe it's not) that are not included in the counted 12, so in that regard, Marquez is not always accurate. Statistically, if one tries hard enough, one way or another, it is not humanly impossible to get 12 direct hits.

PAC was too busy trying to avoid JMM's shots to worry about his footwork!

Then post a pic of pac stepping on jmm's foot. How about the other 2 previous fight? :patsch

OP is correct, watch the video properly and you will see how jmm always seems to land perfectly, if pac did get away, jmm foot follow.

Look how jmm hold on to the step while delivering the shots.

The guy trained for it no doubt. It was so obvious its funny. This doesnt even include the attempt he made.

He may have tried 20 times and only got 6 right.

Regardless of whether it was intentional or not, it happened 12 times (see the picture above again).

No, you be quite surprise how easy it is to execute without looking down. A pro fighter can easily do it without much effort if they want to.

I bet he trained for this. It's not hard, just aim for the guys shin as a guide as you're planting your foot. It's damn methodical, Marquez. Everytime Pac comes in for a combo, bam footstomp and Marquez can retaliate. ***** move imo.

So it was 12 then and not 6

Brilliant. I was just going by the other thread. I havent seen the whole fight again but for me 6 times is bad enough.
