I think Margarito will win again.

I know it's not a popular decision, but I have deduced that it is fairly unlikely that Margarito had loaded gloves in the first fight. I came to this conclusion on account of the amount of punches Cotto took, added to the fact that he is still alive.

I feel that Miguel has managed to convince himself the gloves were loaded, he states he "took the defeat like a man" but yet he still brings up that he thought the gloves were loaded.

If the gloves were NOT loaded, then Cottos "safety blanket" for him quitting goes out of the window, and that is not a good thing to happen in a war with a fighter like Margarito.

Add to this, the weight I feel aids Margarito more than it will Cotto and I see a simmilar outcome, however this time I say Cotto survives to the final bell, he will not quit again, but Margarito by fairly convincing points win as he beats Miguel up in the second half.

Of course this is all dependant on if Margaritos eye still works properly.

How do you think the fight will go?

Over the 1st 5-6 rounds Cotto outclassed Margarito with his skills but Margarito had a foothold. The deceleration in the next 5 rounds and Cotto's face tells a lot. I think Margarito gloves were loaded.

Honestly if the gloves were loaded Cotto would be in bad bad shape, worse than he was, look after Pac fight, Cotto is prone to swelling up, cutting and stuff, he was horribly cut by clottey who isnt a puncher. he is not superman who can take bricks in the face for a prolonged period.

Marg still hits hard without plaster, I think cotto would of been worse off, I think the pace and agression just got to him and broke him

First few rds will be explosive. Cotto is going to town on Margs eye injury forcing a stoppage late on.

Can't believe people say Cotto "quit" in the first fight lol, he didn't quit at all he just had everything knocked out of him and couldn't fight anymore, he didn't "quit" against Pacquaio did he? and he didn't quit against Margarito.

That said I'm predicting a late stoppage win for Margarito, pretty much the same as last time, he's just Cotto's boogeyman.

i think the crux of it is what caused margarito to get back in the fight after the first 5-6 rounds??

for me,as a cynical *******, loaded gloves was the answer.cotto looked like he'd been hit by a truck after that fight.

so, cotto should win this one..............unless the loss the first time took something away from him permanently.i think it did but still think he'll have enough to pull through.

also, if margarito KNEW his gloves were loaded last time out what psycological effect will it have on him knowing that he was outclassed at the start of the last fight but this time he doesn't have his "equalizer"??

Cotto was fighting to his limits just to keep Margo off and he simply couldn't sustain it for 12 rounds.

Whether his gloves were loaded or not - he took all of Cotto's shots and didn't give a single inch.

What's Cotto going to do this time that's any different to deter him?

Cotto has never liked fighting at a pace he doesn't set.

I can see a similar result.

Exactly. Unless Cotto can force an early stoppage through a cut, he will be in the **** later in the fight. Margo is a machine.

Earl WTF are you talking about?!?

Cottos face was an absolute mess, and the beating he was taking forced him to take a knee. When has he done that before (big punchers in Torres and Judah hurt him) or after (drubbed by Pacquiao)?! Not like Margo threw anything but arm punches either.

And the fact that post-fight stood next to Chavez, Margos wraps were hench.

You have two questions though: Can Margo still take that sort of punishment? And can he still maintain that work-rate in his 30s and with so many miles on the clock? There’s no way Margo doesn’t feel it. Several times against Manny he clearly felt it, particularly to the body.

That doesn’t mean he hasn’t got the style to make Cotto suffer though, but without the wraps I think Cotto can win enough rounds to get to the end with a close points win.

Margarito is a cheat, and what he did was despicable, but that said, theres something about him I really like. The way he trains, the way he refuses to give and inch, even when being beaten badly ala Pac.

Cotto doesnt like high intensity fights, he could box with Pac, outbox him even, but he couldnt sustain it. Same v Margo, even when he was winning the fight, he looked uncomfortable, and not in control of how it was going to go.

Even the head to head with Kellerman, I just dont feel the fire from revenge or redemption from Cotto.
I cant see anything other than Margo winning.

People forget they wore 8oz gloves that night, As Flea says the wraps were huge. He tried waffle his way out of it in the face off. He knows he wore them...

That's just stupid. It seems about 90% likely that Margarito did have illegal wraps against Cotto. Why else would he then start using them in his next fight?

"The fact he's still alive" is the dumbest semi-non-trolling reasoning I think I've ever heard.
