How far would this logic extend to giving JMM the benefit of the doubt? Should I not favor Martinez or Bute over JMM because Pacquiao failed to score a stoppage over him? Cotto, Mosley, and Margarito are all much, much bigger than JMM. I agree with AM that Mosley is seemingly shot, so Marquez might have a chance against him, but Cotto and Margarito would both blow JMM away, imo.
None of them necessarily hit harder or have better chins than Pacquaio though, all are slower, easier to hit and have lower workrates Marquez has better technical skill and as good a jab
All 3 punch harder than Juan Diaz and Katsidis, both of which are quite hittable and JMM had his struggles with each. If those 135 lbers can walk JMM down and hurt him with left hooks, Cotto and Margs with have a field day bullying the much smaller Marquez, imo.
Let me ask you this, Do you think Cotto has a faster better hook than Pacqauio?? Cause Pacman hardly landed on Marquez and I think Cotto slow ass would have a hard time landing it, Not to mention slow ass Margarito who had a poor uppercut was landing on Cotto. As for Margo, what the hell did he did against Pacman?? Aside from looking like a slow moving punching bag that made Pacquaio look like ''Super Man'' Anyway's I pick the Marquez that fought Pacqauio over the Margarito that fought Pacquaio any day of the week. :good
Are guys serious? Marquez beats all 3 of them... This new improved JMM with his new strength and conditioning(PEDs or not). Would take all 3 of them for a boxing lesson... He won't stop them, but he has enough power to make them respect him. JMM by boxing lesson to all the fighters mentioned above(at their actual condition).
I do agree with you here man, it would be close but after the 6 or 7 round where Cotto gasses out as he alway's does it would be all Marquez.
It's a myth he had much trouble with any of them, maybe each 1 has a few moments before being thoroughly schooled. Cotto isn't a puncher anyway Wasn't Pacquaio supposed to walk through JMM too, what happened there? BTW Corley hurt Mayweather at 140, WTF would DLH do to him at 154.....
By that logic, Marquez shouldn't have been hit as easily as he was against Katsidis, Diaz, Jaca, Jandaeng, and in the two previous Pacquaio fights. Last Saturday's fight was more of an anomaly than the norm, because Marquez is typically easy to hit. Margarito absorbed punishment from Pacquiao that Marquez is not capable of dishing out, and put more hurt on Pacquiao than anyone has in recent years. The type of hurt I'm not sure Marquez would be able to withstand. Pacquiao, unlike Marquez, has shown he's more than capable of competing with bigger fighters, while Marquez has struggled with the size and strength of lightweights.
