my mind is not as simplistic as that. norton and ali are 2 different fighters who fought in a different division, different time, different stage of their careers and have little bearing on what i saw in those 36 rds of boxing between these 2 fighters. i expect better from a poster of your caliber.

Marquez a lightweight just beat the #1 Welterweight in the world.

Pacquiao just lost to a lightweight and #2 P4P in the world, in a close fight, before that, Pac beat Margarito, Mosley, Clottey, Cotto.

Mayweather just beat a young hungry lion.

Who should be recognized as the #1 P4P in the world?

The fighter who moved up 2 divisions to beat the #1 P4P?
    or
The fighter who got beat by the #2 P4P fighter fighting two divisions below him?
    or
The fighter who just beat a Young Hungry Lion(who was not within the top 20 in the world), while the lion wasn't paying attention?

    In a P4P sense.

    1. Juan Manuel Marquez
    2. Manny Pacquiao
    3. Martinez/Mayweather/Donaire

Juan Manuel Marquez will not make a decision on his future for at least several weeks, but he expects to make an announcement within 20 days to a month. The Mexican boxer is still very angery with last Saturday's twelve round majority decision loss to Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Pacquiao and his promotional team, Top Rank, are pursuing a fourth meeting with Marquez, but the Mexican champion is still unsure if he plans to continue his career.

"Within 20 days or a month I will announce my decision whether I plan to retire or make a fourth fight with Manny Pacquaio. I have to consult my family first, then with my team.

Everyone saw that Pacquaio is not the best fight in the World. Bob Arum saw that he's not the best fighter on the Planet. [Pacquaio] says he won the fight, but I invite you to watch the video of the fight and see that he lost. Me and my corner were sure of the victory, but when they announced the winner was [Pacquiao] I felt frustration", Marquez said.

"Fortunately, the best judges are the fans, the public, who condemned the decision. The match was viewed by the best audience in the world, the Mexican fans, and they rejected that verdict. As Mexicans we lose, but we also win. If I had lost in the ring, no Mexican fans would have said anything, and they would have accepted the reality. Decisions such as this stain boxing. If I decide to continue, [the fourth] fight will not be in Las Vegas. He can come to Mexico and do it on my terms."

    Now *****s will hate JMM.

I know it is wishful thinking, but it would be great to see Pacquiao accept JMM's terms and have the fight in Mexico. I have to re-watch the fight b/c I felt the fight was too close to call and should've been a draw. But the picture I cannot get out of my head is the look on Pacquiao's face after the fight (especially when he was being interviewed in the ring). Despite Pacquio stating he won the fight, he didn't believe a word he was saying; his body language and facial expression showed it. Pacquiao coulda won more fans if he did the honorable thing by rejecting the decision and declare JMM the victor.
