This is a round I considered clear on my first view for Marquez that I was shocked to find most people consider it a clear Pacquaio round. I went back and reviewed the exchanges bit by bit and took a note of who won the exchanges and what punches were landed - I still have it as a clear Marquez round. I feel like a lot of people ignored the work Marquez did to the body, in order to get near giving Manny some rounds. Nothing happened for the first minute except a missed left hook by Pacquaio, a number of stumbling jabs that he missed and one clean jab landed upstairs, one clean jab landed downstairs by Marquez - First Minute Exchange? Point to Marquez 1.51 - You seem to be ignoring the lead right hand that landed for Marquez at 1.54 - Manny follows him with a flurry, lands a glancing shot, misses a hook and then catches a jab upstairs and a right hand to the body - Marquez won that exchange, lands a lead right, lands a jab to the face and a right to the body - Manny landed one glancing shot, Two points to Marquez 1.40 - Pacquaio lands a lead left hand, bounces to the side, gets caught by a Marquez right hand over the top, Manny did have the better punch, 2-1 1.25 - Marquez lands two hooks on the body, makes Pacquaio miss, at 1.18 he avoids several punches from Pacquaio, lands a right hand that snaps Pacquao back, at 1:15 Pacquaio attempts to throw the hook, catches a glancing shot between glove and cheek on Marquez, still I'd give that exchange to Marquez, 3-1 1:08 - Marquez misses his attempted uppercut, gets caught by a good punch by Manny - 3-2 1:04 - Manny misses three punches, doesn't even connect with anything :43 - Marquez lands two lead right hands, pushes Manny back, 4-2 Marquez :37 - Marquez misses a wild hook, Pacquaio misses his counter flurry, Marquez glances a left hook off the side of Manny's head. Not realy an exchange :34 - Manny misses a jab, lands a light body shot on Marquez - again, I'd cancel this out for the above :23 - Manny lands to the chin and to the body, 4-3 Manny :20 - Marquez lands his lead left hook, pushes Manny back End of the round - Makes Manny miss a few times, lands three punches to the body on Pacquaio including a right hand that visibly crumpled Pacquaio, So Marquez wins 5 exchanges to Pacquaio's 3. How exactly do you score that for Pacquaio?
Yeah, because judges are infallible and boxers, writers and judges worldwide don't know what they're talking about when they say Marquez should have had the decision, right? **** off if you have nothing to add.
