Watch Pac vs JMM 1 & 2... JMM has been that way ever since... He was getting tagged with hard shots even getting kd his head stays that way so it can be deceiving in a sense that he wasn't getting hit with good shots even if in realty he is...

That's because they didn't actually connect. Watch the fight in slo-mo and this becomes obvious.

Fights are scored round by round, now how a fighter's face comparatively reacts to punches and looks by the end of the match. Many people saw Marquez land the more effective punches in a majority of rounds, and I'm afraid you're going to have to accept that. Pictures aren't going to change it.

jmm backing up most of the time takes out the sting in pac punches...

while pac goes forward, jmm meets him with a hard straight or upper which is compounded by pac's forward motion....

JMM neutralizes Pacquiao's left hand with his footwork it's quite simple, stop making it out to be rocket science.

He was rotating Pacquiao all night slowly, they were going in circles multiple times a round.

I don't think he was worried about getting countered, I just think he was being careful not to get caught with something big.

Remember Marquez won more rounds than Manny in the first 2 fights, but the knockdowns were what made him lose. This time around, he was going up and even stronger version of pacquiao, so he was being extra cautious not to make the same mistake

The big shot was a counter in the 2nd fight.

I agree, Marquez was more methodical and less aggressive this time around, he learned his lesson from the first 2 fights. He seems to get less and less hurt with each fight.

If you notice Marquez never turns into Pacquiao's left hand or goes anywhere near it in this fight, Marquez is constantly going left. He jabs and then he starts moving to his left. It takes a lot of mental discipline to do that for 36 minutes.

:thumbsup Marquez fought a beautiful fight. It's hard to negate Pac's left hand, but he did a good job at even though it did get through a few times.
