Would smokin joe have beaten wlad and vitali

He would be dangerous with his power but I would put money on either Klitschko to outbox him.

 

I'd love to say Frazier, and he has a reasonable punchers chance against Wladimir, but he really was just too small for me to favour him over the Klitschko brothers.

It's not being disrespectful to Frazier, who for my money showed more heart and courage in the ring than both of them put together, and pound for pound was a superior fighter, but it's just the truth and I think the majority of you know it deep down. He was not the type of fighter that could overcome that sheer physical disadvantage, you are talking about completely different sizes of men entirely here. Although officially they are all heavyweights Frazier really should be thought of as a different breed of heavyweight, they basically shouldn't even be thought of as being in the same weight class in my opinion.

 

Wlad, yes. Vitali would've been harder.

Did you see when Peter did a poor mans version of Frazier in the first round of their second fight. Wlad looked confused and flustered.

He doesn't like pressure, has no uppercut and can't fight inside.

Wlad's Glass Jaw gets shattered inside 6 rounds.

 

The version of Wlad who lost to corrie Sanders, prior to Steward taking over his corner, might have been beaten by Frazier.. But since that time, Wlad has improved his defense and fights more cautiously, and has since beaten several left handers... So I don't know if Joe would be able to land his sunday punch on him so easily.. In addition, we'd be looking at a size differential of about 7 inches in height and something like 35 lbs in weight.. Frazier would have to absolutely work his ass off to get in close to do any real damage, and while he could certainly hit hard, he wasn't really the one-punch type of hitter.. In fact, he relied on wearing down his opponents - something that would be very difficult here, because he'd be the one doing most of the hard work.. And coming forward to try and crowd Wlad would also result in him taking a lot of the jabs and crosses, which had more sting to them the punches of Ali, Ellis and Quarry.... Against Vitali, some of these disadvantages might be amplified even futher...... Not sure if I like Joe against either of the klits..

 

For me Joe Frasier defiantly beats Wlad, who has Wlad faced who is any were near Joe Frazier’s level, Joe’s pressure style would cause Wlad problems all night even if Wlad were to clinch when Frazier got inside he would be getting hit with vicious body shots and head shots. Joe Frazier would have bobbed and weaved under his jab hitting him to the head and body relentlessly. Wlads jab would not keep Frazier off Frazier would smother him and we no Wlad does not like to get him were as Joe would take a shot to get inside Wlad would be in all kinds of trouble, Frazier KO would be the likely outcome Vital is alot closer fight though.

 

Look at fighters who make the brothers look disorganised .

Samuel peter a pretty slow come forward fighter gave Wlad a fright everytime he came forward.

Joe would come in much lower than all of the other fighters they have faced and I dont think we have seen head movement like this from a heavyweight .

Not being nostalgic, but Wlad is punished and stopped in around 6 high paced rounds.

Vtali loses on points .

 

I love the Klitschkos, trust me. I also honestly think Frazier's foil is Foreman, as you noted. I also think Foreman and Vitali would be a toss up, which many people on ESB have voiced. However, I think Frazier would be a nightmare for Vitali. For Wladimir, I'm 50-50 due to each fighter's attributes which may, pending on the circumstances and how "good someone is on the night", neutralize the other's.

Comparing 5'10", 205lb Frazier to 6'2" 242lb Peter is stupid! Peter was actually heavier than George Foreman. Now for the ******s on ESB, thats "Heavier" not "better".

 

Let's face it........todays fighters are simply too fast, too strong, too athletic and too dedicated for the fighters of yesteryear to compete with.

Yeah, Joe would be a top 20 HW in ANY generation due simply to his tenacious drive and solid beard and power. But a smallish HW in his prime that was blasted out by a crude slugger with little boxing ability....Big GeorgeI the brawler.

While George2 was a more refined overall fighter, his weight and lack of dexterity held him back, which isn't saying much considering what he accomplished with his newly found respect for defense and the jab.

IMO, based off Joe's win or die trying style in his prime, Wlad would KO him inside 10 8/10 times with Joe stopping Wlad 2/10 times.

Vitali however, with his iron chin, untouchable defense, and power in both hands, would drop Joe inside 6 10/10 times.

Sorry Joe.....and to the TS's with these Frazier thread......get a life. No one wants to seriously consider these mythical matchups just days after the mans passing. :-(

 

First, Frazier was at his peak in FOTC not Thrilla in Manilla. He was sharper, had more energy and was in much better shape. With that said, FOTC Frazier would tear Wlad apart with his rhythmic swarming and body work. Smokin would eventually time the right hand and start tattooing the left side of Wlad's face until an inevitable stoppage in the late rounds.

Vitali, however, has the arsenal(and aggressive mentality) to compliment his size/strength and would therefore be more difficult to time and break down. The fight is stopped by the ref in the mid-late rounds...

 

Exactly bro. Because they DON'T bob and weave. Haven't seen any HW's since Tyson back in the 80's do that. It's a lost art.

 

Lost art usually means obsolet. Like the jumping jab or the mongoose defence. They won't work today....

 

I think he'd beat both handily. Especially Wlad. He'd **** it at Joe relentlessly comin forward.
