    I've read some of his writing from back in the day and don't really care what trinkets he's been given for it.

    Boxing journalists such as Merchant, Al Bernstein or Steve Farhood - like trainers and others around the fight game who turned to commentating - accumulate KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE before becoming commenting. Indeed, that's why they are selected for this.

    Kellerman has NONE of that. He didn't pay dues, acquire knowledge, experience and seasoning, like just about every other boxing commentator you could name. He got handed that ESPN job because of his rich family's connections. And it shows - he's utterly unqualified.
