    early next year????

donaire is moving up to 122lbs and his wbc and wbo titles become vacant.

curently mcdonnell is unrated by the wbo but he is number 6 in the wbc

concerning the wbc , the number 1 contender is ibf champ abner mares - i dont understand why another champion is number 1 contender??

the number 2 and 3 contenders Esquivel and Yamanaka are fighting in an eliminator that could and should now be for the vacant title.

agbeko the number 4 contender is fighting mares for the ibf title so he like mares will probably lose thier ranking

that leaves montiel as number 5 but has had 2 fights up at 122lbs since the donaire defeat , its yet unclear if montiel will come back down to 118lbs.

that leaves mcdonnell with a good chance of being the number 1 contender especially if montiel stays at 122lbs.

    thoughts on the above????

number 6 to 1 is a big jump. his best way of getting there is by not fighting good opponents. Let everyone else lose and get lowered. Hopefully he moves from 6 to 1 with legit fights.

There will be a few belts knocking about if you assume that WBO and WBC become vacant that means that there will be four fighter fighting for titles as long as Jamie maintains a decent ranking he is definitely in with a shot.

Somebody needs to be lobbying for him though dont think Dennis Hobson has the sort o clout to really push him for a shot :think

i think if he loses his world title shot he should move up to super-bantamweight or even feather.

I wonder what mcdonnel will do next now that Munroe is calling him out? I personally think Mcdonnel would be good at a higher weight if you check his boxrec hes usually stopped his opponents when he came in at 9stone instead of 8stone 6.

Little Frank is involved with him and he managed to get Booth vs. Molitor for the IBF and Munroe vs. Nishioka up at SBW. Were they both mandos though? My memory fails me...

I'd say that's a lot more to do with the fact that his 9 stone fights were against much lower opposition.

Montiel also just lost to Terrezas.

McDonnel has a mando agaisnt Bouzaine, can easily be made into an eliminator.

I dont think mcdonnel needs munroe to be honest i think munroe is avoidng framptona and quigg not that hes scared but he has too much to lose fighting them.
