While you are wrong I do dislike how leonards cherrypicking ways get overlooked, and he wasnt even hiding it, just really avoided hagler and hearns 2 for years till he felt they were past it enough for him to fight.
I give leonard a lot of credit for his welterweight fights up until thomas hearns 1 and being a 2 division champion, only cunning move there is rushing duran into the fight, but its durans own fault that he was eating like a pig after montreal and he himself decided to quit.
After hearns 1 the calculated moves by leonard are what I dislike but it eventually got him a huge legacy boost, fighter of the decade and champion in 5 divisions.
He ebat lalonde at 168 but received the 175 belt as a gif, hell It hink 168 was made for him, that was a good win, he also deserves some credit for defeating hagler in a close fight, but since he played him so much for years and even in the fight tricking the judges with his 30 sec moves and taunting i'm hesitant to give a lot of credit.
He lost to hearns in a close fight when he thought hearns was done after struggling with james kinchen, only then he thought **** it lets fight hearns again.
Overall one of the most complete fighter, great olympic story, golden boy, great career till age 25 after that a lot of smoke and mirrors which get him some credit.
But he still outranks floyd and pac imo

I think the man gets a tad over-rated at times. He was probably a three division champ rather than a legit five-weight class title-holder, and the MW title fight was controversial, so maybe only two. He doesn't have a lot of bouts, and his glory days were pretty brief.

But he does hold wins over Benitez, Hearns, Duran, and Hagler.

And that puts him above both Pac and Floyd.

He's not in my top ten, but definitely somewhere in the next ten.

He beat ATGs like Duran Hearns Hagler and Benitez, as well as being an excellent Am. So a case can be made for him to be top 10 (although I disagree)

Ooh, and Manny and Floyd haven't achieved more

Great fighter but came across a spoilt ***** when he was fighting IMO, ie. everything being on his terms.

Sugar Ray leoanrd would have mopped the damn floor with Mayweather any day of the year. That BS boring style he has of counterpunching would have been a disaster against Leonard, Benitez, hearns, Duran and any other all-time great. These guys were world class fighters that fought against each other at different weight classes. When you look at guys like Hatton, Margarito, Cotto an old & faded Mosely, they were old & not very good fighters. The Leonard yrs had so much better competition. I'm laughing my ass off when I think of Mayweather competing during those years. What a joke! Mayweather avoided all of his challengers until they were old or out of their prime. in my mind, he's not an all-time great. He's in the top 30-40 fighters. Sugar Ray Leonard beats Mayweather in every catagory. I have him in top 10 for sure.

Here I thought this was about Leonard.... Well wins over Benitez Duran Hearns Hagler and Laalonde do put him in my top 15 and those really were the top guys in their respective divisions. As for your Pac statement I don't think anyone would say he conquered 154 or 135 for that matter. And the top guy at 135 was not named David Diaz and at 154 he didn't even fight anybody ranked there. Oh and the top guys at 147 were Mosley and then Money he only fought Mosley after he wasn't the top guy. Don't get me started on Agapito Sanchez. Pac is great but keep everything in perspective. Both of these guys get over rated Leonard and Pac.
