Will Max Kellerman be fair with Povetkin on HBO?

No I haven't but I'd appreciate a link if you find one. He's a very biased commentator but that's not the only reason I hate him. The sound of his voice & the bugging out eyes are also hard to handle.

 

Every commentator has their biases, but Max is a pretty good commentator and knows a ton about the sport. I think that he will get better the longer he is in the game.

Exactly. Kellerman is - hands down - the WORST boxing commentator I have ever seen in 30 years of following this sport. I cannot BELIEVE that HBO (or ESPN) ever hired this unqualified punk.:fire

 

It was OBVIOUS from the very first time he appeared on ESPN in a Black Leather JAcket WITH THE COLLAR UP.... a la Max Fonzarelli God i wish I had that on VID. When they say a picture is worth 1000 words? That 15 second intro shot was worth about 10 YEARS:rofl :-(

Exactly. Kellerman is a CLOWN, always has been. Why the hell ESPN plucked this bonehead from the obscurity of cable access, I'll never know. They actually replaced QUALIFIED commentators like Al Bernstein with this punk!! atsch

Alone among boxing commentators, Kellerman never paid dues as a boxing journalist, or was a cornerman or participant in the sport. Those sorts of things are what give commentators insight, experience and seasoning. Kellerman has NONE of that, and it SHOWS.:yep

Who cares? Kellerman has no better insight into the sport of boxing than any poster on ESB.

HBO made a huge mistake hiring Kellerman to do any broadcasts. He
just hasn't got the right look, temperament or experience to communicate
the "sweet science" to the fans. The bug-eyed way he stares into the
camera and his stuccato physical jestures during interviews with boxers
or general fight commentary is distracting and annoying. He has an
obvious bias against European fighters and can't predict the outcome
of any fight. He acts like he has some great historical insight into the
fight game yet can't successfully predict the outcome of a boxing match
to save his soul. Max got his job because his daddy is rich and has
influence. NEPOTISM SUCKS.

 

If you could get complete body transplants, Max would at the front of the line.

Damn.. I was hoping Larry Merchant would be on since he has done most of the B.A.D. shows recently. He would love Povetkin too. I have always hated Kellerman and his hack voice, he's not even good enough to be on ESPN, let alone HBO.

 

No, Kellerman's inner blackness will not allow him to be fair to Povetkin.
