Cotto Plans To Batter Margarito's Bad Eye

If margo was using wraps in the first fight then it would be considered a 'wearing down' factor on cotto ie he would not be hitting margo as hard as he could of

But I'm a cotto fan and I want him to win but after rewatching the first fight and watching PAC-margo, margo is a beast and battered orbital or not he will keep coming forward and his motivation will be to beat cotto to vindicate himself

 

its tough to predict so many factors both men have had a lot occur in their careers since the first meeting lots of reasons to say one beats the other

i think it plays out almost identical but we will see

I don't know what you guys have seen in his last three fights that would give the impression that he has much of a chance next Saturday. Seriously. He's done like dinner.

 

It is also hard to tune out the emotional factor. People believe Margarito had loaded wraps even though it would have been MUCH harder to do under Nevada rules. Nothing on the hands that doesn't come out of the bag they supply you. Anyone convinced that is going to be the difference this time is probably not making the best decision based on the evidence. Still, the emotional factor remains for Cotto because even if Margo didn't cheat against him, once was enough to taint peoples perception of him.

i think Maragarito just has his number stylistically, Ive never seen Cotto win a fight where he couldnt impose his power and he could not hurt Margo

also Cotto had no idea how to stop Margo

but here comes the no, and the wild card, both are past prime and have taken some real beatings and are far from their first fight forms

who knows maybe Margo has nothing left and the eye is as bad as some say tough fight to pick based on some circumstances

 

both have a lot to lose an gain legacy wise

there is probably a lot more on the line in this fight

im not gonna get into all of it but this fight is massive for both men

I think however that Cotto cannot put all of his eggs in the Margo cheated and has a bad eye basket

he needs a better plan this time

 

Of course the commission is going to come out with their policy and state that Margo was clean because its in their best interest to do so. Do you think that they would admit that it could have happened on their turf? Do you think that it's something that is monitored so closely that Margo's trainer couldn't have snuck it in somehow?

Plus, you have seen the pads. They were clearly used before. Unless Margo is using them in sparring, he must have used them against Cotto since that was the fight before Mosley. That is unless you think Margo uses them randomly :nut

 

I think Steward would have Cotto fighting like Wlad against Margo. Defense first and enough punches to win rounds. Not sure now that Manny is out of the picture. I hope Cotto isn't between styles. I think it was a bad time to switch trainers.

 

Margarito's right eye has an iron chin... the socket is made of glass though

 

That's my opinion. I don't think either guy is the fighter he once was, but it seems their respective decline is about even. The MAJOR factor that most people seem to conveniently brush aside is the weight. Cotto is an aging junior welter. Margo probably could have had a good career at 160. Look at the size difference in the first fight. This time out that difference will be even more pronounced.

It's a bad idea for Cotto to do that. Margo's right eye is stronger than a regular human's undamaged right eye. Cotto might break his hand on it.
