12th round ko for Grant. It was probably a fan-fight for Botha, to have it in his hometown and make a few extra bucks. No harm in that unless he gets really hurt like how Ali did in his farewell tour and the way how RJJ is embarrasing himself now. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4MXhARXpgM&feature=related[/ame]
it was a 12th round KO , not a 2 round KO. and a prime Botha wasnt a bum, he outboxed Tyson before he got knocked out
I never said it was a 2 round ko. And Grant went through a heap of wannabe's to get where he was at the time to get his shot at Lennox too.
Of course he was, but as usual Botha finds a way to give the fans a thrilling ko the opposite way around. He got it like that against Moorer, Holyfield, Tyson and now Grant... the only one he pulled out in spectacular fashion was against Briggs. But almost all of his most thrilling fights have come as a result of him winning, decisively, but then getting put on his fanny!
True. Except he was behind on a split decision to Moorer. I betted on him against Grant, thinking that it was time for him to pull trough with a significant win, but of course it wanst to be this time either Laid out cold with 25 sec remaining..
Everytime I see dumb **** like that, it reminds me of Chavez vs. Taylor I and Moorer vs. Foreman. :huh WTF were they thinking?
Yeah, basically all he had to do was to survive to the final bell. But it looked to me as if his condition played a role here. If he was in better shape he might not have been so out of gas. The bottom line is that neither of these guys is going anywhere anyway. Basically this was a battle of also-rans. Botha has been washed up for years, and Grant was never much to begin with.
Just a good scrap for South Africans. Botha must be on his farewell tour, plus broke. Grant is probably thinking he can muster up another run... it's there for him in some respects. :hey
Yeah, it's probably all about getting some paydays for both. The only thing Grant could do is MAYBE get himself a shot at being cannon-fodder for some up and comer. I find it doubtful that the Klits would find it worth their while to fight someone so lightly regarded.
