Kirkland should never fight Alvarez. Kirkland should go after Chavez Jr. It's a matter of styles. Kirkland has no chin and he should not take on the most powerful puncher in the weight division and expect to win. How is he going to win? Outbox the guy?

Lara would massacre Alvarez and expose how green he is. Lara has a boring style but he would probably win so they wont make that fight.

A good fight would actually be Paul Williams vs Alvarez but has Williams earned the title shot? Still it would be a high risk high reward fight which would be very fan friendly.

There is a better chance of Team Alvarez putting Canelo into the ring against Wlad than there is with Lara.

Alvarez and Chavez jr, We see them mentioned in future fights with the best, but in the end of the day they get easy opponents. No risk of losing.
Mexican champs sell too many tickets to risk anything

They'll never put Alvarez in the ring with Lara.

Lara would **** Canelo up. I haven't watched enough Kirkland fights.

Both are 2 "fresh" for GBP to consider putting him in with either of those 2 guys. They gotta show some kinda signs of slipping before his team puts him in with either guy. They should look at Bundrage before someone else gets to him

I don't think Canelo is the hardest puncher at 154 by any means. Angulo hits harder and Kirkland stood up to him. Kirkland would fight Alvarez in the same way and would have a very good chance.

Williams is ripe for the pickings right now but his style is conducive to good fights and he could still provide a good test for Alvarez.

I'd be happy to see Lara i- any meaningful fight at this point.

Sorry to say, but nobody is going to fight Lara, it's quite sad. The Kirkland fight makes more sense though, more fan friendly and more winnable fight for Canelo. I thought they were negotiating a fight against Chavez Jr.

If I was Lara though, I would try and use the P Will fight as some fodder to take on Martinez.

I think both Lara and Kirkland would beat him.

I'm pretty sure Chavez Jr. hits harder than Canelo. Though I think Canelo is the better ring operator. I fancy Kirkland's chances better against Canelo because of height, and both are likely to mix it up.

If he mixes it up with Chavez Jr., Jr may be raw, but Kirkland is more green than him. Jr. also has a chin and likes to bang too. He is also much bigger, and just showed he has progressing skills off the backfoot.

    Why wouldn't they?

Can someone please tell me why Lara beats Canelo?

They are similar fighters but the difference here is Canelo can fight on the inside and punches harder with a little more speed.

Canelo either stops Lara or beats him in 8-4 fashion. Actually I think Lara even struggles to win a couple of rounds.

People forget he was in with PW. A fighter made for Lara yet he could not drop or stop him. Canelo would have pulled a Martinez on PW.

If anything Kirkland might be harder to beat although as open and weak chinned as he is I think Canelo probably stops him in 1 round.

The toughest fight for Canelo is Molina and if Margarito still has it then him as well.

I will make an avatar bet on Canelo beating Lara any day.
