Floyd uses GBP as a marketing tool, they have strong links with HBO and a certain element of control about the content of 24/7's (I think) Also Floyd Mayweather Promotions doesn't have a license to host fights in Las Vegas. (Again I don't think)

The best that I understand it. When dealing with external promoters, primarily Bob Arum, they are his representatives and essentially operate as his negotiating agent. Similar to how a Sports agent negotiates on behalf of his client on a contract. Mayweather pays them, what is suspected to be a flat fee for this. When dealing with them to make fights, its like a normal negotiation between promoters. They go back and forth on different issues, but essentially they are two seperate entities, with Golden Boy making their money off their fighters and Mayweather(through Mayweather Promotions) making his money off himself and his boys(J. Vargas). Word has it that he goes a step further and even guarantees GBPs fighters cut for a larger cut of the pie. Essentially Mayweather is a promoter-fighter.
