Povetkin fought really stupid. I can't believe he won olympic gold.

I think he won the fight, but you could have given it to Chambers.

Chambers gave it away by not doing enough.

 

119-109?? what fight was the mexican watching? The fight was close, but Povetkin won.

Good fight by both of them, Povetkin showed he can overcome adversity.

He got hit way too much tho, and had to take some big right hands and left hooks by Chambers. If this happens against Klitschko, he'll get knocked out.

He can only hope Ibragimov will win against Klitschko, which I don't think will happen... he has a chance against Ibragimov, but against Klitschko Povetkin will get knocked out.

 

His face is swollen, especially his left eye completely purple

I agree with your concern about Povetkin getting hit by a few too many, though. Sure he rode through them, but shipping rights from a guy like Wladimir is a different proposition...no offense to Ibragimov of course!

 

At least it was a UD and there is no need to clutter things up with a rematch.

Povetkin is now the one to watch, but it sounds like Chambers is certianly stilll in the picture.

Povetkin looked bad tonight, I've heard rumours of him not training hard and it seems to be true based on this perfomance. My god he was slow, he was breathing hard after the second round...

 

Povetkin is impressive, but I think he's not ready for Wlad.

Olympic gold was not a fluke. He was the most dominant superheavy amateur in recent history.

He clearly knows what he is doing, even if it does not look pretty.

Looking forward for HBO broadcast.

Let's see how he fares against Wladimir. Leaky defence from Povetkin vs. inability to fight off back foot and pressure from Wladimir should keep it at least competitive.
