well on the fact that Bradley can't really draw kinda hurts his argument for getting a big fight .. I mean he was blaming his old promoter for not being a star .. and we all know it's really because Tim's fights aren't all that aesthetically pleasing to watch but being undefeated and on the Pound for pound list certainly do help T-Brad. and besides Manny has bigger fish to fry i.e. Mayweather and or the 4th JMM bout, that if Pac were to take a fight vs Tim Bradley, it would be a real downer.
Kind of makes ya miss certain guys, don't it? = = [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_B-M79U0YA&feature=related[/ame]
I think the fickle fans don't help. There is a reason boxers try to protect their 0 so much. Ironically I wonder if the internet doesn't help. Also - the romance is gone out of boxing. Not enough big names and alot of bad press. The promoters and PPV are probably the biggest reasons along with the abc's of sanctioning bodies. Take your pick!!!
Marcos "El Chicken" Maidana is the latest coward to duck Humberto Soto. Pac, Valero, JMM, MAB, EM, Guerrero all ducked Soto, and now Maidana is too.
it's wrong indeed but not a surprise.. It's prizefighting! But we still got real fights left this year: Mares vs Agbeko, Super 6 final, Wolak vs Rodriguez, Cotto vs Margarito, Holm vs Mathis, Moreno vs Darchinyan, Khan vs Peterson, Franco vs Escobedo and last but not least Andrade vs George (should be a war too). December will be a good ****in month!!
Too many belts, too many weight divisions and PPV attractions who can dictate the game. By selling mediocre fights to general fans who don't know much about their heroes opposition.
My brief love affair with boxing is quickly coming to an end. I came here from MMA earlier this year and in the beginning it was awesome. I was watching old fights and schooling myself. I was learning names and the ways of the sport. I couldn't get enough. I had basically a crash course in the sport and was on cloud nine, but once I knew the history all I had to feast on was the present and the future, and wow, the less said about where boxing is right now the better. I'm starting to see why so many people say this is a dying sport and is surviving by nothing more than it's illustrious long history. It just boggles my mind that every single time, instead of the fighters and promoters doing everything they can to make sure the best fights happen, they actually do the opposite and do everything they can to make sure the best fights don't happen. It's insane and it's the reason the sport is probably going to be dead sooner rather than later.
Blame all this nonsense on the "Business of Boxing " If its not the greedy ass prmoters its all the stupid ass catchweights !!
Yeah, he's reason #1 the sport is dying. But the boxing fans, like the ones on this forum, are to blame as well. People jock their guy so hard that they would rather claim the guy they don't jock is ducking and scared of the guy they do jock, so they would rather the fight not happen so their guy doesn't lose instead of trying to make the fight actually happen so their guy can win. What incentive does someone like Pac or May have to make the fight when they can easily fight someone lesser for the same pay while their fans do all the dirty work for them in keeping their name clean?
Boxing fans are the blame..Perhaps if most of you with the except of myself would learn how to get free PPV and stop ordering every fight then, they would put on the fights you want to see. STOP supporting them financially and then your voice will be heard. With all of the technology stop ordering the fights.
