Koncz is Pacquiao's adviser, whether they have a written contract between them that officially seals it is anybody's guess. But, one has to note certain bullet points about Koncz:

-When Koncz' spot as Manny's adviser was threatened to be completely kicked out or relegated to wallflower status, Arum promptly declared Top Rank will only talk to Koncz and nobody else within Pacquiao's inner circle
-Roach himself frequently courses his firm demands about camp particulars thru Koncz when he feels the need to rein in Pacquiao on things like playing basketball, staying up late, leaving camp to meet important or self-important people and other messy stuff
-While most of the suckers in camp hate his guts and accuses him of taking tons of money at the expense of Manny (which may also be true), his net effect seems more good than bad. When two Pacquiao biographies came out, the one penned by Timmy James Sladeck was supposed to be the "official" one (official probably pertaining to how a certain percentage of the proceeds goes to Manny himself, but I highly doubt Manny himself made more than Sladeck here), but it was at best a sophomoric effort and starkly paled in comparison to that by Gary Poole. Certain parties within their camp floated rumors about how Koncz made money whether upfront or commission by letting Poole tag along to chronicle and interview Manny for the book. But when all is said done, the Poole book is the one which will be seen as the definitive work.

...but wait, there's more. I've actually read pieces that they are again planning on having another biography, this time the "official" one again, to be written by someone within the camp, again. Maybe Koncz does indeed serve a purpose, regardless whether he is Arum's man or not.

 

But... But Uncle Bob is different. He looks out for his fighters.

By far the easiest example of a puppet manager is Antonio Margarito's. The man's eye doesn't work and they just signed him up to fight the second best 154lbs fighter in the world.

 

LOL at Schaefer calling out Arum for throwing the judge under the bus...what happened when Schaefer did the exact same thing to Greenburg during the second negotiation process that 'never happened'?

I don't know what is really going on but I don't think Floyd has any loyalty to Golden Boy (nor should he). He was ready to go to Don King if the offer was right.

 

I'd forgotten that Arum was pissed that GBP put up a freebie against his Cotto/Margo PPV. This could be his attempt at payback. GBP seems pretty worked up.

 

A few things to pinpoint in this ridiculous soap opera going on for 2 years now :

1- Bob Arum definitely is a greedy, cunning liar...but so is Richard Schaefer. Don't get it twisted, Schaefer is an equivalent money hungry shark.

2- Mayweather vs Pacquiao would be much better off not having TOP RANK or GBP in the way for that matter, mainly because they are not needed in such a fight promotion. It would sell by itself without any outside help besides the usual backing from HBO & other regular sponsors associated to them.

3- If the fighters could put their pride aside and simply meet each other for a few hours, maybe this thing could be signed and sealed in no time.

4- Manny Pacquiao must start taking care of his business properly and stop looking like a ****in' air head half the time... He is the true boss of his craft and he must act accordingly. If he wants Mayweather, he just needs to stop trusting anyone else and personally take the necessary steps to make it happen.

5- Does anyone know why Michael Koncz is still relevant to Pacquiao after all the **** he's been involved with ? Truth is, he's nothing but Bob Arum's little *****. What a joke.....
