After seeing both of their last fights, I would say that in a 12 round fight, Chavez Jr. would win at middleweight. Chavez W 12.

for me the size differnce is too much. I'm open to be corrected if anyone thinks differently but JCCJR is a massive middleweight come fight night. I wonder will he eventually move to 160?

Chavez would probably be too big for Alvarez at middleweight and that would probably be the only place it could occur since Roach has recently discovered that he does not like catchweight fights. If they were the same size, I would pick Alvarez every time.

I'll cosign on the Chavez Jr. victory. The guy weighs in at 180 on fight night. The kids probably a natural Light Heavy, and even then he's on the big side. And of course, his skills are improving at the faster rate than Canelo (maybe because he wasn't as far along)

Asking canelo to go up in weight to fight a guy who balloons up to 180 pounds by fight night is not fair at all. To be honest Jr should be fighting at SMW. They should do this fight at 156-158 or not at all.

People are getting way too caught up in this, "oh, Chavez rehydrated to 180" crap. Alvarez probably rehydrates to 170 at 154. The main issue is the differnce in height. But i think Canelo is the just a better fighter. Faster hands. Better coordination. He wins IMO.

Even if he does get up to 170 he would still be outweighed by 10 pounds and less height and reach, thats not a good match up lol

Canelo is def the better boxer but I think this fight wouldn't be fair to him

Canelo is the better boxer, IMO. It would be competitive but I favor Canelo on skills.

For me a much more interesting fight at 160 would be Lemeiux V Alverez. I think Lemeiux wins early but... the longer the fight went on the more i'd favour Alvarez on skill.

Ive said this for a long time now, most boxing fans would be shocked if these two fought eachother soon. I say soon because maybe canelo improves, but if they fight within the next 8 months, I am confident that Chavez stops Canelo late.

Chavez TKO 11 while being barely behind on the cards.

People will continue to **** on Jr though while thinking Canelo is the next best thing in boxing. It is what it is.

I doubt they ever fight anyways...

I see Jr as too long for Canelo. He's not a bad boxer himself. If they match up good size wise, I think this would be a war..

Both are overrated can-fed hype machines but Canelo is the better of the two. UD12.
