fight stopped on cuts...floyd wins via tko 10th round

an unsurprising victory, perhaps the only eye opener is that he stopped pacquiao inside of 12 rounds.

Floyd has only himself to blame for the result here. He had this thing in the bag.

After dropping the first two rounds to the much busier Pac, he made the adjustments many expected him to make. I called the third round even, but you could have scored it either way.

The next eight were clearly Floyd rounds, and more emphatically so after that eighth round accidental headbutt that left Manny's face looking like a used panty-liner. The butt was neither man's fault, BTW.

Floyd's showboating in the eleventh was in poor taste, but after years of build-up, I can see why.

I suppose Larry Merchant will have his excuse to retire from HBO, given his indignation and vitriolic rant at Roach's decision to let Pac come out for the twelfth, given the punishment and the blood.

But it just shows that Yogi Berra was right. It's never over till it's over.

While unca Roja must bear some of the blame, what kind of professional at Floyd's level sticks his head out to showboat, and then turns it towards his corner to answer his trainer's gloating remark ?

The look on his face when he turned back towards his 'victim,' only to see that left uppercut closing in on his unprotected chin !

I think he was a goner right there. The follow-up straight right was just the icing on the cake.

Still, as Kellerman rightly pointed out, if a little incoherently, He only had to make it to his feet with eight seconds left in the round, and he would have regained his p4p #1 spot.

But as is often the case, Max was wrong.

He had to stay on his feet !

When he was up at 7, there were shouts of delirium from the Floyd fans.

But these same fans groaned in agony when his legs folded and he went down again at 9.

    He came sooooo close !

I told everybody from the beginning that FMJ wouldn't get a decision doing that one shot bull****. Pacquiao had him covering up all night. You can't win a fight on defense alone. It wasn't a great fight, another letdown as far as hugely anticipated fight go, but I'm glad Pacquiao won. I don't think there will be a rematch.

Mayweather TKO6 Pacquiao! The fact that Pacqiao was infront of the scorecards doesnt matter. Mayweather doesn't have to give him a rematch and I have no problem with him retiring! Nothing left to proof.

    Mayweather TKO6 :happy:happy:happy

Steward claims we were witnessing a miracle and the next coming of Jesus (Pac) while Floyd embarrasses him for 9 rounds until Pac gets TKOed and Steward then claims Floyd was winning every round and Pac didn't look very good.

Oh, and then in the post fight interview Merchant asks Floyd why he chose to fight Pac instead of giving JMM another shot, and accuses Floyd of ducking JMM

By round 10, Floyd is winning the fight comfortably, then BOOM, Pac lands a huge left and the fight is over.
