I was just watching Margo vs Cotto.....again....

And it got me to wondering. Anyone know of any fights where one boxer was so tired/beat down that they had to deliberately take a knee, but wound up coming back to get the KO? Or less impressively, a decision??

Yeah this but Floyds was due to a Broken hand not a punch. Dont know if the TS was looking for this kind of thing or take a knee to avoid punishment and still win somehow.

Sometimes wish meldrick taylor woulda done this vs JCC

There seems to be a taboo on taking a knee, its seen as a cowardly move. Eventhough it might get you the win, had taylor (either) taken a knee they would have won.

Oscar sort of did early in his career against Narsico Valenzuela. Got knocked down, stayed on one knee till 8, got up and knocked Valenzuela out.

Yeah, that's what I was looking for, taking a knee to avoid punishment. Yeah, I guess you could call it cowardly. I'd call it strategic. NFL teams do it, I don't like it, but hey, its all about the W.

Yeah, I wish Meldrick Taylor took a knee against Chavez. But then again, Steele ****ing robbed him, so its not like he could forsee that not kneeling would cost him the fight....
