Thought it might be cool to post some pics of home gym setups.

I just hung up the rack for the gloves and got myself a round timer for Christmas.

    What you got?

That was the situation I had. Couldn't make it to the gym multiple times a week. I started going one day a week, getting homework and checking progress again the next week after several workouts at home.

    I had a heavy bag/speed bag combo stand. Heavy bag + speedbag = $120

I added the double end bag at home because I liked using the one at the gym but it was always either broken or being used. The bag was about $40, the 45lb weight for the bottom was about $50, one bracket from the hardware store = $100 total

Next, I bought a bracket to hang the heavy bag from the ceiling. = $10

Then saved up and bought the speedbag platform a few months later because my original one sucked ass. = $120

The nicest set of gloves I have, XL 14Oz Ringside Super Bag Gloves, were a gift from another fighter who quit training.

My sparring gloves are cheapo $30 16oz Evertrash.

The Rival speedbag I added over the summer, was $40 I think?

The Everlast round timer was $100 Christmas gift to myself, and just came in the mail yesterday.

The Title Gel Mitts were $65

I didn't buy it all at once, but added one piece at a time over about 10 years. I've probably invested a total of $600, including misc. brackets/bolts/screws from the HW store... not including the treadmill.

I got lucky and found a hardly used treadmill on craigslist (around tax return time 2008 ) for $450.

Eventually I became asst coach at my gym, but the owner sold out recently. I'm talking to coaches at other gyms looking for another weekly session and some sparring when I'm back in decent shape.

If I get to a point where I could be competitive, I might consider some Masters Div. fights. If not, then I'm good just training, because I love it.

Until then whatever comes next comes along, I've decided to start a small free boxing club in my town to pass the time. I'll teach what I can to anyone who wants to work out and learn and who isn't an *******.

Damn dude all my crap's just strewn around my room and my backyard. Nice setup! I'd like to do something similar if I ever had the room to do it.

What can you tell me about that heavy bag ceiling attachment? What is the ceiling made of, actually? Maybe a silly question..
    How heavy is the bag?

and how was the speed bag/ heavy bag stand thing?

Sure thing. Here is a link to my review of the item on Amazon, which includes details on mounting/hanging the bag.

My ceiling is drywall over studs, so I cut back the drywall and used lag bolts to mount it directly to the stud. Been hanging for over two years and no issues.

In case anyone is curious, here is the same type of info on the speedbag platform. Amazon review and some installation instructions.
