Round 1

Avalos doubles his left jab. Romero is tomahawking his own jab out and bopping Avalos on the hairline. A couple of right hands by Avalos, but mostly just high soaring jabs at long range as they circle each other wide. More jabs from Romero, sharp shooting from outside. Avalos jumps in with a lead right to the sternum to press Romero against the ropes. Lots of side to side movement by Romero. Avalos presses into him and pushes him against the ropes. Avalos puts out a jab and Romero counters with a quicker one. Slow 1-2 by Avalos is dodged as Romero steps around it and keeps moving. Double jab by Avaloss lunging out and leaving himself open. Counter right hand by Romero! Avalos tries to flurry Romero into the ropes. Romero leans back and cocks up a big right, countering hard on Avalos' face. Some hard pendulum shots by Avalos, ripping up the body and then bringing the power upstairs. Romero's head snapped back for a moment! He recovers and is pushed into the opposite ropes. Romero clinches. Avalos bashes away and lands a hook to the jaw that again jerks Romero's head. More power punches by Avalos, and finally Romero is dumped on the seat of his pants by the bottom rope. Up and saved by the bell.

10-8 Avalos

 

Round 2

Avalos fires some high jabs and rights coming in. Romero sidesteps him and double-taps him to the back of the head from behind as Avalos failed to spin to face him in time. Avalos hurls between the two top ropes before catching himself as the referee warns Romero for the rabbit punches. Avalos walks into a BIG right hand counter but lands a left hook of his own. Avalos is just jumping in and paying for it but is getting close and making Romero feel his power. Right hand leaping in by Avalos catches Romero leaning up against the ropes. Avalos lunges with jabs and rights. Romero counters and then clinches. Romero loads up a HUGE counter uppercut and Avalos just swallows it without blinking. Avalos throws out a lazy jab, and Romero lands a hard counter 1-2. Romero is landing the big shots this round, good comeback for him. Avalos is showing a monster chin, though. Combined with his power that makes him extremely dangerous for anyone except a highly skilled technician like Christopher Martin.
