Poll:What is your final prediction on Cotto vs Margarito

Should be a great fight, really looking foward to this one. Basically, I think Cotto has more left than Margarito and thats the difference. I can see either guy winning buy decision or ko but I like Cotto. Cotto by decision.

Cotto won't have learnt from past mistakes and gets stopped late again, unfortunately.

I'm pulling for Cotto but see it going Margarito's way by a late TKO or a decision.

The only chance Cotto has is if he boxes him from the perimeter -not in the pocket. He has to try to position himself at a place where he can get Margarito to lead and reach and then counter and spin off at angles. He has to keep Margarito turning and minimize how much punishment he takes to the face. If Cotto fights the fight he should fight, it will be a technical night -not the war that people expect.

Remember, Cotto probably knows or at least suspects that he cannot stop Margarito -he watched Margarito stay up and keep trying against Pacquiao despite a broken orbital bone and myriad other damage to his face. And Pacquiao hits harder than Cotto.

Those who think that Cotto's face was a mess in '08 because of the alleged plaster are wrong. Cotto swells badly and he cuts too. The more of a "war" this fight is, the more likely he will get stopped or jump on that bicycle and wheel around the ring like he did against Clottey and Pacquiao and lose a decision.

Cotto is in a lose-lose situation here. If he wins, he will only win by fighting the kind of fight that Puerto Ricans won't respect. If he fights the kind of fight his fans want him to fight, he loses again.

I think that Cotto is only familliar with fighting in two places -in the pocket (where there is give and take) or out of reach. He is not skilled enough to fight a master's fight. I'm not sure that he will be able to resist going toe-to-toe with a stronger man who can take more than him and who is willing to go farther than he will.

I think it most likely that Cotto surrenders, unless he can fight a masterful fight that he is unaccustomed to.

I really want Cotto to win, but something is telling me Margarito will do it again on points. Cotto catches too many shots for my liking...I hope he proves me wrong.

I have serious doubts about Margo's eye holding up. Cotto by TKO in the late rounds.

 

Tough fight to pick, I'll just go with Cotto by decision, feeling that Margarito is more declined. He's had a long career of taking punishment in fights and the gym, and those last two beatings he's taken were just horrific.

 

final prediction. Cotto earns a close sd but is battered. if anyone improves and does better in this fight it has to be Cotto. But not by much, the style matchup is in Margarito's favor. Somehow this is always like a middleweight vs. a junior welt. Even though Cotto is a better fighter.
