After going down 3 times against McCline I can see Wlad knocking Peter out if they fight again.

Hone in on Chag. Make a public proclamation about how the title unification NEEDS to continue for the good of the entire division. Make the public aware that it is an issue of utmost importance. Be public and assertive about it how it is long overdue, and now that the ball is rolling, it needs to continue on to full unification...,Go public and force Chag and Kohl to make some response.

But I recall reading a while back that Wlad and his camp were already talking to Kohl and CHag about this fight.

    Oh HELL yes!

Right. Thompson is a waste of time, and will be about as competitive as Austin was.

I think we'll see Wlad beat Sultan, then call Chag out, to no avail.

Cause we all know that Wlad fighting Chag would mean that Chag would be merely donating his title to the cause, cause Chag would be beaten like a rented mule.........Kohl knows that....Wlad knows that....hell, I bet even Chag knows that..........LOL

Here's what I think he should do:

    1) Fight Thompson. Should be an easy fight. He gets to keep his belt, and probably comes out without too much damage. While Thompson isn't great, that's another legitimate top 10 HW he's beaten, which helps his legacy some considering the types of guys he's been fighting lately.

    2) Fight Chagaev. Honestly, Povetkin probably needs some more seasoning anyway, so his management should be happy to take some step-aside money, giving him another fight against someone who could prepare him better for Wlad. Unifying 3 belts helps his legacy, and it's probably a big money fight.

    3) Fight Povetkin. At this point, it should be a more competitive fight, and a bigger money fight since Sasha presumably will have beaten a couple more name fighters on US TV by then.

    4) Fight the winner of the Maskaev/Peter/Vitali mess. Doesn't happen if Vitali has the belt, but if Peter has it, it's a great chance for him to demolish someone who made him look fallable last time.

    5) Retire. Nothing much else left for him to do at this point, and he should save his brain for better endeavours. He could have a long future in diplomacy if he can retire early enough to avoid brain damage.

Call me crazy, but how about a common sense rule for the 4 major sanctioning bodies: "you will not be stripped of your belt for fighting a unification bout."

I just read that too. Hopefully, he does go after the other title holders while Povetkin learns on the job.

If Peter beats Maskaev it's gotta be a Wlad/Samuel rematch.
I think it would generate the most interest.

The winner of Maskaev vs Peter has to fight Vitaly Klitschko or the winner of Virchis vs TBA(probably Gomez).
I guess that Wlad and his management will try to postpone their encounter with Povetkin and try to stage a fight against an easier opponent like Golota or Toney first.
Chagaev and his management have also announced their intention to postpone their mandatory defense against the winner of Valuev vs Lyakhovich in order to defend the title against another opponent(Kahi Meehan or Taras Bidenko) first.

You're right, there IS no way Peter will knock out him out.
