Margarito is a warrior

well he managed to hurt pac with his no power.

 

I know what type of fighter he was. I was a big fan. But I cant shake the handwraps controversy. He has a cloud of suspicion over his whole career. Maybe he only tried to cheat against Mosley. Maybe he has cheated his whole career up until getting caught. I cant shake it. And it will follow him whenever his name if brought up in boxing history.

Margarito overachieved given his technical limitations.

Some fighters are best remembered for the fights that should have happened but margarito fought anybody who is around. He lost some, won some. That is not the point. That is why I admire David Diaz because despite his losing efforts, you could always say he did not do it safely.

 

I admire his bravery and toughness. But he's a piece of ****, that must be recognised.

 

There should be no question about this.

 

The fight was close to happening back in 2003. I think Mayorga losing to Spinks ended talks.

 

Even if he did cheat his career would have gone teh same way anyway. Handwraps arent gonna turn ur fists into dynamite. I'm not even sure how effective they are realistically since your wearing a padded glove over them anyway. I'd like to see someone who actually knows something on the subject explain this.

 

Damn that would be awesome to see at their primes.

There are too many legitimate and clean tough guys in the sport for me to waste words praising the bravey and warrior-spirit of a guy who tried to and in all likelihood repeatedly did use weapons in the ring. Getting his ass kicked by Shane and then getting his ass kicked by Pacquiao and then getting his ass kicked by Cotto buys him precisely no good will whatsoever in my book; he was compensated more than enough and more than he deserved for those beatings.

 

I have issues with anyone giving their respect to that scumbag.

Margarito, Go back to Mexico and vanish, please.
