What are your thoughts on "who" was saved by the doctor: Cotto or Margarito?

Even though I was begging the doctor and ref to let it continue, the only people it's controversial with are Margarito fans in denial.

Your boy got his ass whipped, clean, pure and simple. He looked bad without his loaded wraps even before his eye closed, and he looked bad in the last round. Get over it.

 

The NYSAC. They would look really bad if Margarito received permanent damage to his eye.

 

i really really wanted the doctors to let him continue because i knew they will use this **** as an excuse. i wanted a 10 rounds to 2 unanimous decision

 

Im pretty sure Cotto was gonna pull it out anyway, but tough to say because the round previous to the stoppage was Margo's best.

 

Margo was about to **** Cotto up.. I still however think Cotto would of survived and won by UD!

 

Margarito was on his way to blindness with a potential for Margarito getting his ass knocked out... I still, however, think Cotto would have easily taken the rest of the rounds and won by UD.

 

Tone could have both eyes closed with 2 big ass knots on his face and Jotto wouldnt knock him out! The MANSTER doesnt get knocked out by little girls! :nono Tony was just about to hit that and the doctor saved Jotto!

 

Cotto was winning by a land slide deluded Margarito fans, i looked on this site sunday witout watching the fight, was made to belive Margarito had a chance of winning, before it got stoped.
watched it last night and Margarito got schooled...

 

atsch I think you must of been watching another fight, im no fan of either but cotto was kicking his arse...

 

Margy couldn't hit **** in 9 rounds, he wasn't going to be any more successful in the last three. Margarito knew this, he just likes being dominated by Cotto so he wanted a couple more rounds of bliss. The doctor sensing Margarito's sexual deviancy decided that it was far too depraved and the fight had to come to an end. This, of course, broke Margarito's heart (who at that time was hurting so good). Margy is a bottom.

 

Cotto had enough in the tank to get home.When will people realise this was always going to happen at the first sign of real damage to that eye,even if Margarito was ahead.
The NYSAC would have made this proviso before allowing the fight to go ahead.

 

How is this even up for debate.

 

Margarito was catching Cotto a bit more. But Cotto had plenty left. He would have won all the remaining rounds.

 

I think Margarito could have feasibly gone on, but he was more likely to get more damage to the eye than Cotto was to get hurt bad enough to get stopped or dropped multiple times. Two rounds prior, Margarito knew they were at the tail end of what leniency they were giving him, and was trying to go for the stoppage (which isn't much different to what he usually does anyway); he wasn't getting much done. Even the uppercuts he was scoring on the inside at times didn't ever seem to bother Cotto much, who was content to lean on Margarito and eat a few to catch a breath and limit his control of the pace.
