Actually Augie had a great Amateur career,and in my opinon could have been a top level pro,if he didnt have his injury issues,and had to retire young.

He had Naz in a lot of trouble before that pretty brutal KO.

 

OK how about we name A level fighters that Mayweather or Pacquiao should have faced?

 

Mayweather never fought Casamayor, Freitas, maybe Tzyu. And Pacquiao didn't face Raheem, Campbell, Guzman, Soto. Some of these fighters had styles that would have given May and Pac trouble even though they may not be A level.

 

Well Floyd completely destroyed Corrales who stopped Freitas.

Marquez-Mayweather: Weight difference was too much. Marquez just couldn't hurt Floyd.

Hatton-Mayweather: Probably Floyds best win. Hatton was at the top of the 140 division, was competitive for 10 rounds before getting timed and eating a massive, perfect left hook that he didn't see coming.

Also, Hatton was A Level at 140. Anyone who says anything else is s ****ing dip****. Check out the guys accomplishments ffs.

 

Floyd have fought Champion after Champion at there legit weight for years. He became champion himself after one year of turning pro and held on ever since. You mention Corrales as being a B fighter, but around the time when Corrales and Floyd met, both fighters were undefeated. A fight in which most thought Corrales might be to much for Floyd, the night was a complete embarrassment for Chico. You also mention Castillo, who gave Floyd one of the closer fights he ever had up to this date. Around the time when they fought Castillo was a well established name in the game. Like Nassem Richardson said, "You don't get to this level in the game if your not special".

 

This post has to be a ****ing joke! Pac fights guy coming off of high profile losses and in a few cases the losses came from Mayweather!

So if Pac beats the same guys that have been previously beaten by Mayweather how in the hell does he get credit for that! If Money doesn't get any credit for the wins then Pac should actually take a demerit for even fighting those cats. Morales and MAB were good wins and I had the second Marquez fight for Pac. It was razor close but Pac won that one, IMO.

Floyd beat a prime Corrales, Castillo, dropped Corley twice on the way to the win, Judah, and Mosley coming off the Margs victory. Shane called out Floyd in that one for the payday, but didn't want Money back in the day when Money had no name recognition outside of the boxing world. Marquez was a mismatch of skill, not size.

Pac has a few pretty good names on his resume but it's kinda funny how all this revisonist history plays out to elavate the cat to a higher level than his recent competition should warrant. A fighter is judged by record, recent victories and losses. It's entirely possible to be a great fighter for a two or three year span. Few fighters stay at the top for a long period of time. The examples I can think of from recent history are, Prime Mike, Roy, DLH, B-Hop, and Calzaghe. Pac's rise has come in the last six years against stiff competiton at the lower weight classes, but it's seriously lacking after that. The best win would be Cotto. (after a loss!!!)

 

The best guys Floyd as fought are: Corrales, Castillo, and past his best DLH. These are his "A" fighter wins. Let's put this in the correct perspective.

Hearns best wins: Duran, Benitez
Duran's best wins: Leonard, draw with Hagler
Hagler's best wins: Vito, Hearns, draw with Duran
Whitaker's best wins: Chavez, Mgirt 1 and 2 Roger Mayweather


Now I bet from each of those resume's you can find one fighter better than Corrales, Castillo, or an old Oscar. All of these fighters beat legends at the height of the opponents career. Floyd don't have this on his resume. The best prime opponent you can claim he beat was Corrales or Castillo. Now compare those two against these fighters and now you see why it sounds funny when you mention Floyd's name in the same sentence with these fighters. To become a legend, you have to beat a legend, in their prime.

 

Anyone with any brains would know Chico would not be at his best with the Jail sentence hanging over him. In fact Jr promoted the fight by saying he was representing All Battered woman. Figure that out?

No, that's to the people who claim Castillo and Corrales were A fighters but Margarito, Cotto, and Clottey were not. Either they all are elite or they are not because if they fought each other at the peak of their careers, I'd pick Marg, Cotto, or Clottey to fair better against Castillo or Corrales. Actually, Clottey DID beat Corrales but an old version.
