I like cotto but he never has been welcome in PR as a hero and probably never will. Great fighter but his personality clashes with the fans in the island. I think there were like 20 people at the airport to see him after he won vs margacheato. :hat
^ This. Although I'd love to see Cotto-Martinez, it's not the right fight. Alvarez seems the most obvious choice, but I'd love to see Cotto- Chavez Jr. I think this will happen, despite the weight difference, because: 1: He's being artificially trumped-up as a major contender. 2: He's very good looking. 3: His name, obviously. 4: Oh boy, another PR - Mex battle! - and 5: It's an easy win for Cotto, who would then get a rematch / huge career-end payday with Pac. - And another excuse for Pac not to fight Floyd. I doubt Cotto will fight Floyd, since he would likely be humiliated, and the Pac rematch would easily bring more money. He can lose to Pac, but with dignity, and retire a very rich man. Heck, he might even win, given his impressively improved defense and Pac's lack thereof, but I wouldn't bet on it.
bro im not throwing in ny two cents here and suckin his dick he is being recieved as a hero in puerto rico nothing less front page elnuevodia caguas mayor held a special ceremony party for him the island is praising him and he landed in pr almost 2am which is why there werent many people there...hes been on all the radio shows don fransisco had his mother on the show la comay also praised him
People want a fight with middleweight Chavez Jr. but don't want a fight with middleweight Sergio Martinez. Even though Jr. is bigger than Martinez.:huh A fight with Canelo would be the best fight, but I doubt GBP and Top Rank work together any time soon. Fights I wouldn't want to see: Cotto vs Pac 2: Another one sided ass whooping. Cotto gets stopped again. Cotto vs Floyd: A boring UD for Floyd.
Cotto needs to Stay away from Pacquiao, Mayweather, Martinez, and Alvarez if he wants to survive 2012.
Cotto was impressive but slow down. He just beat a one eyed shot fighter, no way he beats Mayweather, Pac n definitely not Martinez. Would love to see all three fights though.
Carolina, and i didnt say he wasnt loved but as you saw when he arrived after the margacheato fight there werent more than 20 people there.. and most werent even there to see him they were there to pick up family members :hat
Yes, because Martinez isn't just bigger, he's most likely a better fighter. I'd rather see Martinez vs Floyd.
