I like cotto but he never has been welcome in PR as a hero and probably never will. Great fighter but his personality clashes with the fans in the island. I think there were like 20 people at the airport to see him after he won vs margacheato.

    ^ This.

Although I'd love to see Cotto-Martinez, it's not the right fight.

Alvarez seems the most obvious choice, but I'd love to see Cotto- Chavez Jr. I think this will happen, despite the weight difference, because:

    1: He's being artificially trumped-up as a major contender.
    2: He's very good looking.
    3: His name, obviously.
4: Oh boy, another PR - Mex battle!

    - and 5: It's an easy win for Cotto, who would then get a rematch / huge career-end payday with Pac. - And another excuse for Pac not to fight Floyd.

I doubt Cotto will fight Floyd, since he would likely be humiliated, and the Pac rematch would easily bring more money. He can lose to Pac, but with dignity, and retire a very rich man. Heck, he might even win, given his impressively improved defense and Pac's lack thereof, but I wouldn't bet on it.

People want a fight with middleweight Chavez Jr. but don't want a fight with middleweight Sergio Martinez. Even though Jr. is bigger than Martinez.:huh

A fight with Canelo would be the best fight, but I doubt GBP and Top Rank work together any time soon.

Fights I wouldn't want to see:

Cotto vs Pac 2: Another one sided ass whooping. Cotto gets stopped again.

Cotto vs Floyd: A boring UD for Floyd.

Cotto needs to Stay away from Pacquiao, Mayweather, Martinez, and Alvarez if he wants to survive 2012.

Cotto was impressive but slow down. He just beat a one eyed shot fighter, no way he beats Mayweather, Pac n definitely not Martinez. Would love to see all three fights though.

Yes, because Martinez isn't just bigger, he's most likely a better fighter.

I'd rather see Martinez vs Floyd.
