Roach: Amir Khan would destroy Brandon Rios. We’ll take that fight!

I like it. Very interested in hearing how Team Rios responds to this. Roach's fighters do have skills; I'll give him that. But if I remember correctly, the last time he went up against a swarming Mexican....well, just ask Linares about it. He'll fill you in on the details.

 

He didn't do too well vs Marquez and even he said he underestimated Marquez. I give a slight edge to Khan but the farther the fight goes on it turns in favor for Rios. I hope this fight happens!

When you look at it, the game opponents that Khan has fought were Kotelnik and Maidana. Lamont's a step up from both in terms of skill.

To me, this fight is the true test on whether Amir can genuinely be something to talk about, or if he's just another speedster who throws flashy combinations and can't adjust.

The fights with Judah, Malignaggi, Salita and McCloskey meant nothing. Maybe I'm discrediting Amir for what he did, but them guys did not look game. Peterson is game. His performance vs. Bradley and Ortiz still amaze me. Despite being down, he tries so damn hard to win.

There's a reason Roach said it'll be his toughest fight, and the Mayweather's don't just rate Peterson bro's for nothing. They know they're good fighters.

If he loses, he can forget about Mayweather and being elite. He'd have zero chance and would only be considered a top level fighter. I might be a big fan, but people need to look realistically into Khan's performances.

 

I can't believe some people are picking Rios to win Khan.

I have always been a boxing fan but I've only just become a hardcore boxing fan this past year. And last Saturday was the first live fight I have seen of Rios, and Rios was easy to hit.

John Murray found Rios easy to hit. With the greatest respect to Murray - he is no where near the level of Khan. And don't give me the "Rios was weigh drained" ****. I understand Rios had problems making weight, but it didn't show in the fight. Murray was tagging Rios with shots early on when Rios would have had his stamina.

Like I said if Murray can continually hit Rios then Khan has no problem what so ever in beating him.

 

Khan would give Rios a boxing lesson, Rios walks straight at you like a zombie.

Khan would stop this guy.

A very refreshing point of view.I honestly thought Khan had this one in the bag but always the sign of a good post when you view a fight differently after reading.

 

How good is Rios defense against someone like KHAN who throws pretty quick combos?

You honestly believe Khan stops Rios? How much have you seen of Rios? Just the bout against Murray I'm guessing.

 

I have seen enough to know he has a poor defence and is very hittable, vs a fast puncher, mover, and high workrate that's a big no no.

Roach is right, Rios is made for Khan and Khan would destroy him.

 

I'm not talking about his limitations, I'm talking about Rios' chin and durability.
