Many months before the Pac v.s. JMM III took place the poll results of who do you think will be the winner between Pacquiao and Floyd here in Boxing Forum were about 55% (Pac) - 45% (Floyd). Now, the poll result might turn out to be 70% (Floyd) - 30% (Pac). Even Roach his trainer now is also losing his confidence with his boy by saying that the fight with Floyd will be difficult for Pac.
Everyone but Ariza was saying that Marquez was going to be a tough fight for Pac. The last minute KO predictions were typical trashtalking/hype tactics.
I feel so as well, the downside for Floyd is that he gets less legacy credit for a win now than before in 2009/2010. Now it looks like he waited for pac to slow down before being brave, combined with his past hurts his legacy. If you agree with it or not that is what would happen I think. The ppv numbers wont be hurt though, good marketing and people, especially casual fans would eat it up.
The funny thing is as soon as Pacquaio was announced the winner of the 3rd Marquez fight everyone turned against Pacquaio and Mayweather gained more support. Example: My drunk brother and brother-in-law started saying Mayweather is scared of Pacquaio on the undercard, as soon as they announced Pacquaio the winner they called him a ***** and said Mayweather would beat him
People know what the outcome is going to be. Every functioning brain knows Floyd wins that fight easy. People say Floyd saw that fight and decided to move. We know thhat Floyd called him out before the fight. Mayweather will beat the crap out of Pacquiao. It's best that Team Pacquiao continues to do what they've been doing. Lord knows that Manny will get destroyed if he gets in there with a fighter at his natural weight, on top of his game, and there to win.
This thread should be re-titled, "If Floyd doesn't want to fight Pac, it doesn't matter anymore" All I know is that I'm still pumped for it and it will still go close to breaking or break all records for a PPV. As a Pac fan it's good Pac is being written off. His best performances have been the ones where he was up against it as an underdog. It also means he gets more credit for the win. Sucks be to Mayweather if he doesn't get the credit he could've gotten a couple years ago. It was his choice to vacation for a year and a half and waste a fight on Victor Ortiz.
No no no....I didn't mean that. Pac v.s. Floyd is still interesting to watch now but not as much as it was before. I'm gonna watch this fight as well if it is made.
