Nah, I thought that but Tyson dominated. I really don't think he gets enough credit for ko'ing Holmes. That was Holme's only ko loss despite facing Shavers twice, Mercer, and Norton(capable puncher), and Cooney(might be an overated puncher but could still crack). Tyson may not have expected Holmes to bounce around but those jabs he threw barely had any effect and Tyson beat him with a lot of ease. It takes either ignorance/stupidity of this fight and/or PURE Tyson hate to say Holmes frustrated him and had success. Even Holmes admitted he was scared.

All you fools saying Holmes beats Tyson with his jab alone in their respective primes, are deluded. Isnt possible to beat a peak tyson with just a jabbing performance

There should be a minimum age regulation on here,Its clear to me that a lot of posters have a knowledge of boxing based on glitzy PPV shows.
Prime Holmes would have made Tyson look like a fool.

Even tyson admitted Holmes was a pretty hard fight, even if it didnt seem that way.

What brawler in history was able to do to boxers what Tyson did?

Of course the style of Holmes would always present a difficult fight for a short brawler but what Tyson did to many of mobile fighters who boxed and moved was very impressive.

Biggs, Tucker, Holmes, Williams, Tubbs, Thomas.. These guys were tall mobile fighters who boxed well behind jabs and good footwork. These type of stylists always made fighters with Tysons style look somewhat ordinary, but Tyson still dominated them.

Tyson had to be very good to cutoff the ring and make them fight his fight. Tyson is a very underated fighter.

holmes got completely obliterated, I think he landed maybe one or two jabs and a single right hand in the entire fight. Playing keep-away isnt the same as frustrating someone.

Holmes had like 1 good round.

He was coming off like a 2 year lay off though.

slow as hell earnie shavers nearly decapitaed him and renaldo snipes nearly knocked him out...but holmes makes tyson look like a fool? the same holmes who got his ass kicked by witherspoon who had about 15 fights and carl williams...holmes was elite...but to say he makes tyson look foolish is ignorant...

Holmes was plenty hittable, particularly for Tyson.

Earnie Shavers isn't **** compared to Mike Tyson. Whatever slight edge he has in single punch power... Tyson's already dropped four or five bombs, much faster and much more accurate. And they sure aren't lacking in the power department. Let's just say Shavers is far more inferior to Tyson in the hand speed, accuracy, combinations department than Tyson is to Shavers in power. All in All, he's a vastly superior puncher.

Real consistent here too... Lewis/Tyson is exactly how it would play out prime-for-prime. But Holmes/Tyson? Oh no, Tyson would be embarrassed. GTFO

There should be a delusion limit regulation on here if you think any version of Holmes makes prime Tyson 'look like a fool'.

I agree with everything but Lewis/Tyson. Shavers' is obviously a monster hitter but he's inferior to Tyson in every other way I can think of and not by a little. People want Shavers to be better than he was to boost Holmes' resume. The truth is his power was the only elite thing about him.
