Look back at the younger Cotto and you'll notice he was alot more fluid then the rugged puncher he became later on.. I think Diaz with his cuban background is bringing back out some of the same skills Cotto has always had, the ones that got him to this level.

You're right Leon. It was in a clinch; Cotto was leaning against Margarito against the ropes, but he doesn't have a great amount of experience doing it, so in pushing him, he'd find himself slightly off balance, and Margarito, desperate to get some offense going, landed a good series of uppercuts on the inside. I think Cotto is MUCH less susceptible to them now that his guard protects his chin and isn't up around his eyes as much, and he balances his feet underneath him whenever he throws a combination instead of hunching over. It was just a moment of vulnerability since Cotto was pushing with his arms, but they ended up under Margarito's arms, and Cotto found himself reaching in the lean instead of using his arms for a guard while pushing with his body, which is what the short guys usually do for leverage.

Interestingly enough to me though, Cotto just stood there content to take the shots while resting and stifling Margarito's movements, whereas that was the game-changer in round 7 of the first fight.

everything. He's a good fighter but by far one of the most overrated fighters out there. If it weren't for Top Rank's matchmaking he would have even more losses.

His chin and his stamina are his main weaknesses.
