Segura was cutting weight hrs before the weigh in Friday. Might have had some adverse effects but Viloria was just a better boxer and Seguras straight forward style was tailor made.

 

Man, huge win for Brian. I thought he looked pretty done in his fight against Miranda I think it was. Didn't see the fight, but curious how bad Segura's eye looked.

 

I've always been a fan of both these guys. Great fight.

Just as I said Margarito's eye won't hold.

 

That huge welt was the product of Viloria's repeated and vaunted counter left hooks, Segura just kept getting tagged all morning long.

 

Saw the first round before the stream got cut. Segura was so primitive. He was swinging for the fences and dipping his head while swinging.

 

Hopefully we see Pong-Viloria sometime in the near future. Viloria certainly deserves it, and the travel isn't as extreme as it would be to make a Pong-Segura fight (which so many people were looking forward to under the assumption of a Segura win tonight).

 

He was more like Emmanuel Lucero than Margarito.

Margarito never bends and swings. And Margarito at least aims for something to hit.

 

The first Calderon win was pretty impressive at the time, but it's increasingly looking like Calderon is simply past it and ran into an absolute match-up nightmare at that weight.
