Khan also started turning his back when on the ropes to get the ref to break them up. Disgraceful performance.

Khan did the same thing in the Maidana fight but got away with it, tonight he didn't get away with it.

Look im not saying Khan is dirty.
and im not saying khan deserved the deduction.

im saying he should have been smart and not pushed in round 12, knowing the ref would deduct a point. he lost his belts coz of his stupidity.

    crazy

Agreed Ali pushed all the time, Lewis pushed too, and Mayweather pushes and so do many others. Having said that, Khan should NOT have pushed but I guess habits are hard to change.

Khan's problem was he lost focus

Khan pushes because he has no inside game and I've said this before. With that said the second point deduction wad bull**** you don't do that in a close fight.

Khan got called at least five times for pushing Peterson's head down. I wasn't surprised at all after all the warnings in general tonight.

Yes. Maidana got a point off for one elbow too.

He made the same mistake I railed Andre Dirrell for...as a visiting fighter, you have to take into account and adjust for how the ref is calling the fight much moreso than usual and you have to expect that 2 out of the 3 judges will favor the other guy's style a little more. ***** about how unfair it is later, but adjust and take care of business at the time. You can't expect favors.

I think it was B-hop who said fighting in the other guy's back yard is like giving him 2 points and I agree 100%.

Is the hometown advantage right in boxing? From a pure sportsmanship standpoint, no. But it's been part of the sport for as long as it's been going on and it must be accounted for. Khan let it get to him and if there's a lesson to be learned from tonight, it's that he must thicken his skin and know what to expect the next time he's the visiting fighter. It's a shame he had to learn that lesson the hard way tonight, but that's how it goes sometimes.

Pushing is now a two point deduction worthy offense in a barbarian sport called boxing? :patsch

    No.

But khan should have stopped pushing the moment he realised he's being penalised for it

Unfortunately Khan HAS to resort to pushing, turning his back, or blatantly running when the fight goes to the inside because he has no inside game.

He kept pushing because he can't do anything else.
He either pushes and loses points with a good ref or gets KTFO.

Khan made mistake #1 in the ring he "Disobeyed" a nervous ref who was working the biggest fight of his career on the biggest stage possible in front of the biggest crowd he prob ever reffed...
(^^Don't do that ****, Cooper was nervous as hell)

That said, Khan's elbow push combined with the excessive pushing down of the neck & head of Lamont + the constant complaining & asking for a bailout basically cost him the fight.

He can't help it. After doing this his whole career how do expect him to stop during 36 minutes of action. Holding and hitting, pushing, holding opponents head down are all part of his arsenal. He held Judah's head down and hit him on the waist-line. He almost looks scary(afraid) in the ring.
