on the verge of a floyd mayweather fight, both fighters were looking to far ahead and looked past their current opponents. Maybe well see Lamont Peterson vs Floyd Mayweather depending on the circumstances. If I recall properly a lot of people reported taht Floyd was struggling with LP in sparring for shane mosley.

The same fate.. but lets be honest, Khan has far more potential and talent than Berto. Berto will never reach elite level in boxing. Khan might, if he learns what he needs to learn and make the changes.
This might unfairly trivialize those opponents and what they are capable of to them. Frankly, Ortiz is just a flatout better boxer than Berto and Peterson had a very good strategy to exploit the lesser parts of Khan's game. Regardless of if they were looking past them, they may've had the same type of fights with them no matter, I feel. Oddly, I called the winner of both fights wrong, and yet I said before that Ortiz was better than Berto (thought he was mentally ruined, and would lose because of it), but there you go, my hindsight interpretation.
Ortiz isn't a better boxer. He's a better inside fighter and got Berto on the ropes. In the center of the ring, Berto's hands and feet are faster. Neither guy is technically great. Berto beats him in a rematch clearly. Khan met a guy who's a damn good inside fighter and his weaknesses showed. i could just imagine a bigger stronger Mayweather walking him down much more effectively than Peterson did.
The ref ****ed up the fight. Khan should have gotten the decision by a few points. Peterson fought hard and made a good account of himself. This was a robbery.
Berto's hands are faster, no argument there. That's nothing to do with being a better boxer. Really, nothing at all. I disagree about his feet, and I think Ortiz is too bat**** to predict the rematch. But, I have absolutely zero doubt Ortiz is a better boxer than Berto. Mayweather ruthlessly exploits every one of all their collective faults and laughs his way to the bank, on the same night, if he felt like it.
Neither one was looking ahead. Its just that neither one is that good. BOTH are flawed as **** fighters. Stop making excuses for them.
