I was watching the Skysport broadcast and I was wondering what the opinions of the HBO team was during the fight.
Was the HBO team taking note of the many holding and pushing of Khan?
    Did Ledderman complain about it?

The Skysport team was actually very accurate and honest. They said that Khan was excessively holding and pushing and was often enough getting warned for by the ref. Their ultimate verdict was that Khan gave the fight away himself by the many 'fouls' he committed and that Peterson deserved respect.

Yeah, if I remember rightly SKY didn't even make too much fuss of the -1 point in the final round did they?

I was quite surprised by the Sky Team, usually they ***** and complain, but they were spot on.

I personally thought one of the main issues was that the referee wouldnt call breaks. When you tie up on the inside, generally a referee will seperate you and let it restart, but that referee kept allowing Peterson to run Khan onto the ropes instead, which would either result in Khan pushing his head down or Peterson getting his head up and landing combinations. Seemed like the ref wasen't very accomodating to someone who fights on the outside, but then again it's not an excuse for a terrible stylistic performance from Khan.

No. I'd say Kellerman was deferential.

SKY (jim watt?) had Peterson the winner by one round and I think HBO had Khan by one round.

Who was Kellerman and Merchant rooting for during the fight?
    And how about Ledderman?

I don't need to know about Lampley as he always is biased.

yes, but as you said, khan could run peterson onto the ropes as well, besides khan could use his reach a little bit better and try to stay more in the outside...

HBO made many references to home cooking in regards to the ref and that Khan was being unjustly punished. (maybe protecting the HBO fighter, I don't know)

Personally, the head holding and pushing were excessive, but I don't think the ref should have taken the points. Although the punch on the break to Peterson's chops could have drawn a point. The KD in the 1st shouldn't have counted either.

    Spot on :good

The ref wasn't splitting the fighters when they were clinching or tied up. He kept telling Khan to let go, allowing Peterson to work on the inside imediately. He kinda seemed like the "anti-Cortez" to me. You could tell he wasn't that experienced.

Was a close fight that I think Khan could have won if his tactics were better. Can't complain about the result as it was so close, Peterson really brought it!

Pretty poor job by the ref, but khan is a professional and after haveing a point deducted he should have never allowed himself to get another deduction.

Damn just goes to show how bias HBO is once again if Sky saw Khan as fouling....

I'm going to have to rewatch it, because I did think the 2 point deduction was BS and did come off as hometown favortism to me-- makes us look bad ....
